Yeah, I really don't understand people acting like our expectations are too high. All we're asking for is to be consistently competitive. I think we'd be thrilled if we won 8 games this season, and that's the definition of a mediocre record. We have objectively been the worst franchise in the NFL over the last decade. Any fan who isn't fed up needs to take off the green-tinted goggles. Maybe we'd have a better team if we didn't keep trotting out endless excuses for all of the mismanagement and fuck ups.
The problem Is that It's only one game. I understand, the writing Is on the wall mentality, but, at least give It a chance to completely fail before we look to the sky falling down on us. We can still win 8 games this season. If this season Is another complete flop, I get It, but, I don't understand this level of condemnation after one game. A game In which we didn't have several key starters playing for us. Primarily, our QB. I'm as fed up as I've ever been as a fan, still, benefit of the doubt goes a long ways too.
yeah I get it, but it’s not so much that we lost, it’s that we got blown out yet again and looked no different than the shit we saw last year and the year before, etc. not all of those were Saleh of course. personally, I’m not saying fire the guy…not yet, he absolutely should get this year to show progress…but he NEEDS to show progress …. And a big part of that would be not getting blown out … not being down 24-3 late in the 4th quarter. had we lost 24-20 and been competitive for sixty minutes, my opinion would be WAY different.
Winning 8 games would be a flop. That's a losing record and another season watching everyone else in the playoffs
Man MeanDean, It's been so long, I just can't give the Jets the benefit of the doubt anymore. They need to show us that they're not the same old jets before they get any credit.
The present Jets regime is in their second year with young coaches and new players. Fan frustration because the past has been poor is not their problem. They are trying to build a team that can compete every week. That takes time. Go Jets!
I mean to say an 8 win season this year is a failure is just trolling. If you are the Bucs, it's a failure. If you are the Chiefs or Bills it's a failure. But a team coming off of two seasons where they won 2 games and then 4 with a rookie QB, only someone with an agenda (or mentally challenged) would call an 8 win season a failure. But that's where this forum is at these days. Fucking sad.
We haven't made the playoffs in 11 years. If the best we can say is another losing season is some type of a moral victory, it really points to how sad this franchise is right now.
You need to factor in the past few years. Two years ago we won 2 games. Last year we won 4 games. To say an 8 win season this year is a failure is fucking retarded. I'm sure the forum snitch will report this but I don't care anymore.
It doesnt matter how many games we win. All that matters this year is that Wilson takes a big step forward and shows he can be our franchise QB and if not tear it down and start over as usual. Im fine with us winning 6 games as long as we are competitive in most of the losses which would show me that a little more experience could turn those 11 losses into 4 or 5 more wins next year.
