Possibly the best part other than the sound of the engines as the cars make a restart. I have never been to a Sprint Cup race but as I said before, I go to a lot of the Modified races and the fuel smell is killer. I am much more into the smaller guys like the Mods because they're like college ballers trying to make it to the pros. All out racing.
Not much action in this thread this year. I'm glad with how competitive it's been this year so far tho.

for the first time ever, the Daytona 500 is delayed a day. Rain in Florida, they'll race tomorrow at noon. Unfortunate for working people.
Not looking good today either, 80% chance of showers off and on...funny interview wityh Kevin Harvick about how "Happy" he was to sell off his racing team, and how much money he saved by not having any entrants in Truck or Nationwide races, each race had multiple crashes and wreckes...
Yesterday, they pushed it to Monday at noon, but this morning, they pushed it to 7 PM tonight. Still raining throughout the day.
Danica, JJ, and Bayne involved in wreck on lap 2. Sadler pushed JJ from behind. Down to 35 drivers remotely in contention. Everyone else is well out of it or not even racing.
I can't believe they actually finished the race last night. I figured the surface was wrecked after that crane dragged the jet dryer down the track and put those grooves in it.
Lars Anderson wrote in the SI preview of the Daytona 500: "...and her car co-owner/teammate Tony Stewart has already said he'll be her drafting partner in the late stages of Sunday's race." "With...Jeff Gordon leaning on his bumper on the final lap, Earnhardt is likely to end his drought to secure his second career Daytona 500 victory."
Just too long a race. Hopefully Nascar's luck with weather and related stuff gets better. I do think they have improved the sport somewhat in the last couple of years. Let's see what happens in Phoenix.
This race was a disaster. Nascar has a knack for embarrassing itself although this was thru no fault of their own The ending wasn't exciting either as instead of trying to pass Biffle looked content to finish 2nd. Jr actually showed some balls for once. I'd like to see more moves like that from him this year
