That's the problem when you are very active in FA and trade up in the draft... you don't have enough money for the players that deserve it.
All agents are douches. Some of them are just worse douches than others. This is strictly from the perspective of a fan of course, from the perspective of a player all agents are money makers, some of them are just better money makers than others.
Everyone ripped TJ for holding out (I did as well) yet I dont see too many people ripping Leon for holding out. Leon is still in his rookie contract, when hes done with it (next season), or when the Jets think right, we'll give him his money.
The difference is, Thomas Jones is making millions and millions of dollars. Leon Washington is arguably a greater asset to the team and making fourth round money. He definitely deserves a raise and he knows it.
So our entire backfield is either unsigned or refusing to play until they get a new deal? Sweet! we're fucked. this is pretty straight forward. I say the same goes for leon as with jones. make them play this year out. next offseason Jones moves on, and leon gets a new deal. thats pretty much how we should play it. We'll fuck it up though by paying leon and not paying jones and pissing him off.
I haven't heard that T. Jones is holding out. I have only heard that he just skipped the voluntary workouts.
Give him his money. He deserves it as he is every bit the player that Westbrook is except he's younger, has better knees and does not appear to be nearly as injury prone. He was grossly underutilized last year but was terrifically productive with the limited touches he had to work with. He is a special talent and a perpetual home run threat. I think we should dump TJ and use Leon and Shonn the way the Giants used Barber and Jacobs. I'd like to see Leon get 13-16 touches a game (8-10 carries and 5-8 passes) and Greene to get 15-20 carries a game as well which would include all the short yardage/goal line work. Sign Edge as insurance in the event that either gets hurt our starts to wear down.
