I forgot to add in Keller & Mangold as first rounders (2 first rounders those years). So it's 5, but yeah. No WR or RBs since 2001. The last time the Jets drafted a RB in the first round was actually Blair Thomas, lol.

Tannenbaum didn't become GM until 2006 so it really doesn't matter what happened before that..that dog died in '05.

I don't think the dog died. I think it got sent to the doghouse.

I think Bradway has just about as much influence on the Jets picks now as he did as GM. I think Tannenbaum is the beard that covers up that reality.

I also think that's why the Jets failures now look so much like their failures in the first half of the decade.

Wow. It's not just Tanny. Message to Don - Bradway, who was around then, still works for the Jets.

It's confirmed now by the Jets.

@EyeOnNFL: Jets announce Santonio Holmes out for the year (IR) with a Lisfranc injury to his left foot.

But why would they put him on the IR? They might need him for the superbowl! What the hell Rex!!

The Lisfrank injury is where one or more of the metatarsals (long bones of the foot) become dislocated. The injury has levels of severity that is measured by the length of the displacement of the bone from their connecting joint.

The fact that it took three days and several doctors to even diagnose this injury means its likely not a severe Lisfrank.

And beyond that – this is not the type of injury your throw the ball away for mid play. It can be painful but its not that serious. Its like getting your foot stepped on. This was the injury Matt Schaub got in week 10 last season when Albert Hainsworth fell on his foot. Holmes’ career will be intact – hopefully somewhere else.

his career will be in NY...no one is trading for him and $12 mil in guaranteed salary. Holmes is a playmaker, we need another receive r- can hill become the guy this year? He will get a lot of work for the team to decide.

If the Jets are smart the try to renegotiate Holmes contract over 2 years ... and spread the money out a bit. And use the extra money to upgrade other need areas.

For all you tinfoil hatters thinking the slow diagnosis means there's a conspiracy afoot (forgive the pun)...

Tebows prayers must be being heard...

*He starts week 8, we finish on an 8 game tear (no pun intended) and win the super-bowl.

Top 5 pick and we can probably get Jarvis Jones. I would do anything for that guy on the Jets. He's a freak pass rushing OLB. Crazy motor and sick moves.

This isnt the proper setting for this discussion perhaps, but if the Jets were to finish this year with a top 5 pick and select defense in April, I will lead the massive riot to burn down the Florham Park headquarters.

No... With are luck we will get 18th-24 pick and not make the playoffs.

Obviously but Bradway isn't who anybody cares about getting fired..he is out the door the minute Tannenbaum is.
