Yea, I asked E about him in the Mathews thread. For a true freshman the kid looks beastly. Hopefully SC cuts down on his carrries a little.
Both Shane Vereen and Dontay Moch put on a good show of skills last nights Cal - Nevada game. Moch looks to have very good potential as a potential as a 34 OLB linebacking prospect. Probly good enough that we will have no shot at him down the line. Vereen is a nice one cut runner with good balance and vision. I liked his ability to make yards after the first hit last night. Don;t really remember him catching many pass though. I was damn sleepy near the end of the game.
Vereen is an explosive back. At the next level, he'll be a good fit in a committee with a power back. Dontay Moch will put up big numbers again this year...and if he pulls of some crazy shit at the combine, he'll be a top fifteen pick.
I'm watching the WVU/Maryland game right now - Tavon Austin is going to be a hell of a wideout prospect when he's eligible.
Ryan Mallett..wow. I think we've found our 2011 overall #1. Trent Richardson could be overall #1 in 2012.
I think he was talked about already, but... <3 Nick Fairley. Sign me up for him next year if he leaves early.
For those of you watching the Clemson Auburn game, Darvin Adams is having himself a man-sized game. What a fantastic catch he just made for a touchdown, getting the TIP of his right toe down just in time. Cam Newton's been shaky, but throw a perfect rocket in there for the TD.
Byron Maxwell, a Clemson cornerback, just knocked out an Auburn running back. That was a pretty big hit for a cornerback.
Jaiquawn Jarrett the FS from Temple looks like a great prospect... he was all over the field for Temple against UConn earlier today and was laying down some monster hits. right now he's skyrocketing up draft boards and is in the 3rd-4th round range, I would love to see Tanny land him in one of the middle rounds
Jarrett and Robinson were both pretty good prospects headed into the season, but them winning some big games doesn't hurt. BTW in another late game Akeem Ayers had another INT and ran it back 77 yards before anyone caught him. Keenum's knee buckled a bit trying to tackle him, but don't know how serious it was.
Has anyone mentioned NC State LB Nate Irving yet? Completely blew up what would have been a nice reverse by GaTech.
I'm watching the Buckeye game and a true Freshman, Jonathan Hankins DT, 6'3" 330 busts thru a double team and sacks the QB. It was an incredible play, something you don't see too often. I"ll take it with a grain of salt, playing E. Michigan, but this kid "Big Hank" looks like an awesome prospect. Hankins is very quick for a big guy and very strong.....someone to keep an eye on in the future. Remember this player's name, he's going to be a force. Here's a recent article............. http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sports/stories/2010/08/28/osu-tackle-isnt-just-big.html
On that note, Russell Wilson continues to look good for NC State at QB. He's still a junior, but he's put up big time stats since his freshman year and is relatively unheard of. I don't think he'll ever get the chance to be an NFL QB due to his height. He's listed at 5'11", but I think that's generous. Granted they haven't exactly been playing Alabama every week, but he makes plays with his arm and his legs. It'll be interesting to see if he gets any attention despite being short for a QB. I am biased, its my alma mater.
