Eh. Franchise QB >> Good/Great Safety Just think, when we're kicking the shit out of the Patriots--en route to winning the Division for years to come--I'm sure you and Rhodes will find a nice, warm place in your heart for Cutler as he starts talking shit and bitching out a laid out Mayo and Adalius Thomas on the ground after missing a clutch sack in which Cutler connects with Clowney for a 53-yard touchdown leading the Jets to take the series for the season in a 56-13 blowout win over the Patriots in New England. I'm almost sure you would, because I know Rhodes would.
So you don't want a Pro bowl QB who hasn't even hit his prime yet because Rhoades said he's a "dick"?
I'd rather stick up and defend a guy thats been with us then some primma donna thats just pissed because someone didnt like him.
Let's keep this Rhodes/Cutler thing in perspective. What they think of each other doesn't matter nearly as much as it would if they both played on the same side of the ball. It wouldn't be like a QB and WR not getting along or a safety and corner not wanting to take the other guys back... They aren't even on the field at the same time. That said, any locker room divisiveness is bad, but this wouldn't be like Eli Manning/Shockey or TO/Witten/Romo drama.
Nah. That's the old Jets. You know...the team that's been without a real Franchise QB for many, many, years. Now if a Franchise QB can't even help turn this team around with an expected solid defense... ...well... ...then I may just consider suicide.
I just realized that the odds on the Jets getting Cutler are slim to none. Denver will not trade him without getting a QB that they can promote as potentially being similar to him long-term in return. That realistically means a top 10 pick so that they can get Stafford or Sanchez. Cutler is under contract for 3 more years so he has no leverage in terms of directing where he is traded because if he's traded and does not report he will forfeit a pro-rated portion of his signing bonus as a result, courtesy of the Jake Plummer precedent. The Detroit Lions are on the clock in the Cutler sweepstakes at the moment. If they choose not to make a bid then St. Louis, Cleveland and San Francisco will be the next targets for Denver.
True, but its not like there are no arguments inside your own locker room between players who have been here for years.
I just wrote this Haiku for Woody Johnson and Mike Tannenbaum: Cutler's on the block. Jets ringless since sixty-nine. We've suffered enough.
I do not think Woody cares 1 iota about us suffering fans all Woody cares about is stuffing his pockets with our money. Woody only goal is to constantly figure out new ways to make himself wealthier at the NYJ fans expense
Your not taking a 3rd team to be involved..and since we basically follow everything the Pats do...the Pats were ready to pull the trigger on a 3 team trade for a qb. We are not behind all of those teams you mentioned..because if we were...this front office would have done their best to say that we are not in play publicly, which they have not done so. Whether you are a Tanny fan or not..whether you like his moves or not..unless the asking price is absurd, to say Tanny isnt in play or in the top 3 is not on his resume. He does get deals done. Whether you or I like them is a different story..but he gets deals done.
