Braxton was good for this team last year. The talent level has passed him, other guys are simply better receivers. On punt returns, I really had no problem until today. Letting balls die inside the 5 when you could have had a fair catch around the 20 killed us.

I think he might’ve gotten his eggs scrambled upstairs with that shot to the head in the dolphins game. Just doesn’t look like the same guy.

The same reason he fair-catches EVERYTHING: He is afraid to get hit.

Berrios absolutely looked afraid yesterday. He was awful. Just his usual fair catching would have been helpful.

You're right but the Jets should not be a training camp for inexperienced coaches. We did it with Herm, Bowles, and now Saleh. These seasons are short and the Jets are blowing games they should be winning. They're competitive just not coached well at all. The Minnesota game still pisses me off. MLF playcalling was unacceptable in that game. But I'm really impressed with Mike White. He was a warrior who took some brutal hits and came back.

Whenever I see stats like these, my first thought is who is 106th?

Berrios was the only consistent offensive skill player last year. You're right, the talent level of WRs on the roster is better this year. It's hard to come off the bench and make a play when you hardly see the field as a receiver. It's a sad reflection on the state of your offense if you have to rely on your punt and kick returner to score points. The main thing you want from your punt returner is ball security. Catch the ball, secure it, and if you make a few yards, it's gravy. Same on the return. If it's in the endzone, take the touch back, if it falls on the field, try to get it at least up to the 20, but secure that ball. If you can do that you're doing your job as far as I'm concerned. True, Berrios did misplay a punt against the Lions, which was a great punt by their guy. I don't recall him misplaying any others this year. He is a good returner which is why he should be chosen as an alternate for the pro bowl.

Brutal. He did completely stink in 2020 also for Sam. Then has a good 2021. Now back to 2020 form.

Also, what good returns he actually had this year? I remember time and time again thinking it would be better for kick off returns if he just lets the ball bounce in the end zone, since he can't even get back to 25 yard line.

@HackettStillSux you may be onto something.

However Berrios should be tradedz he somehow is a alternate pro bowler. Some team may bite in a trade. He has done very little to excel the ST
