I say hire Bieniemy, I'd put Pederson at the bottom and remove Lewis altogether. I like Arthur Smith though and I'd put him near the top for me. But i agree with the top two choices: Daboll or Saleh. I can't help but wonder if this in person interview is only going to last a few minutes before he gets offered the job though...
While it could be true he is a flawed candidate or that the reports he interviews poorly are true, Bieniemy's biggest problem might be the Chiefs are too good and teams are not willing to wait until after the SB. Waiting until after the SB definitely, puts him at a disadvantage especially when there are other strong candidates.
Teams don't have to wait until after the Super Bowl to hire him. I think the problem is that he's not a good interview and the people that are connected are getting intel as to the structure in KC. There's a reason Bieniemy hasn't gotten a job in three years but Mike Kafka's name is popping up. And it isn't because of skin color.
It would be quite the move if Kafka gets a job before Bieniemy...which the Eagles may have interest in Kafka.
While I agree that your factors may apply here is article where PFT said they believe that because teams have to wait until after the SB to hire Bieniemy that is working against him. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/arti...ut_of_head_coaching_job_again/s1_127_33782105
I can't think of it off the top of my head, but wasn't there a coach hired within the last few years that played all the way into the Super Bowl? Or at least late into the playoffs. Either way, if a team felt strongly enough about him as the guy to lead them to a title, they'd make a move. Where there's smoke there's fire and there's plenty of smoke here.
I agree for the most part. The fact teams are not waiting and hiring him said he has flaws but it also may say there are other strong options available. Absent so many perceived good candidates teams might be more willing to wait. From Bieniemy's stand point he is in the perfect spot. Keep winning with Mahomes and wait for a really good opportunity to open. I think Dan quinn was the coach you were thinking of?
And based off that article, Bieniemy seems content to just wait it out and keep making a good name for himself. The problem is at some point, he's gonna become old news. If Kafka ends up as an OC somewhere and succeeds, Bieniemy's stock takes a HUGE hit. That's right. And the user name checks out.
I really hate Saleh. A big reason is probably because he reminds me of Jason Taylor. The defense is good and was great last year. They also had four first round picks along the defensive line and continued to draft another to replace Buckner. Bosa when healthy is one of the best in the game. I'd be apprehensive about him but he reminds me of a guy that feeds the defense based purely on emotion (and does a great job at it) and not scheme. They pretty much just play cover 3 on the backend. Similar to what Seattle's defensive coordinators did when they were elite in the middle of the decade.
I figured that, didn't mean to insinuate anything, just seems like a weird reason to hate someone as a coaching candidate.
My main reasons were below that paragraph. But I try to trash Jason Taylor everytime I can since I have to see @MaximusD163 avatar every other day.
I made that and the sig when I was 23... It feels like a lifetime ago, now I’m 30 with 2 sons and yet it still makes me laugh.
