I doubt that Jim Harbaugh has any interest in the Jets, and if what several posters have speculated is true, he would want complete control, and that not only won't happen, it shouldn't. I would love it if he was interested in the job however.

    Matt Campbell.
Bienemy never gets hired so to me that OS a red flag.

Matt Campbell is a hell of a football coach. And his system isn't some gimmick college style offense. I would like that hire

He has it made there, many perks. For successful major college coaches, they have unique situation where they have best coaching jobs. Unless he has some career goal to coach NFL (carroll) then if we get Lawrence he might want to try with that dream scenario. Otherwise, I don’t think he would leave.

Dabo would be first choice, but he is not leaving Clemson. Eric is my second choice, not sure he would come to jets either. In fact I don’t think any of the top names would come to jets at this point. I know I will get flack, but I want Rex back if we can’t get any top names. He would be better than some retread, or incompetent coach (Gase).

I went with Roman because of the connection to JD and I like the way he adjusts to the players he has had. Honestly I have not really thought about him as much as EB but seems to have better offensive creds

Thanks, I did. I switched from Greg Roman to Brian Daboll because I think he needs some love in this thread. He may be the best candidate of all, but at least should definitely be in consideration and hopefully interviewed.

Great list! Thanks for sharing. I hadn't heard this guy before and like him. He made a compelling case for each of his 10 candidates, and he was right to rule out the former HCs that he did. I could get on board with any of these 10 guys in terms of the offense. It's interesting that he didn't mention Wink Martindale.

I am jumping in on the Matt Campbell bandwagon as well. At the very least I would like to learn more. At this early stage my bet is Campbell and Wink Martindale would be our 2 leading candidates.

For me I don't want a hotshot media publicized coordinator I want a respected leader of men who can communicate and work well with players and coaches.

Good listen. All good candidates and good synopsis. But would take Cowhler or Rex if we couldn’t get top name.

Cowher hasn't coached since 2006 and seems content with his TV gig. Rex was entertaining, but the team was mediocre to bad during his last 4 years. We can't ignore that just because of the 2 AFCCG runs.

I hear you, at best I would want a new up and comer, but if can’t I would want one of those guys. They are change the culture kind of guys, and we desperately need that. You know same ole Jets! That is what I liked most about Rex. Don’t want retreads like Patricia, O’Brien, etc. or whoever else gets fired. That would be disaster like Gase! Let’s not do that again! No to McDaniels! No belecheat lineage please! The SF D coordinator was not mentioned, but I think we all want an offensive minded coach!

Thanks! Good concise breakdown of a lot of the prime candidates. IDK who I prefer at this point, but I know for sure any would be better than Gase.

OMG Seriously? The game has passed both of them by. Rex is a joke. Cowher is too old, and he'd never take the Jets job.
