I pretty much agree with you but... Marvin Harrison Hines Ward (Elite in My book) Plaxico Although, there are many who played in the superbowl. Fitzgerald Boldin Randy Moss T.O. Harrison Ward Plaxico
while most of what u say is true, except for the location of the burress td. the giants probably do not make it to the super bowl without burress. you have to get there to win it and u can not argue that the giants having a wr threat like burress did not do anything but make things easier for that offense. burress also pretty much single handedly tore up the packers secondary. yeah u do not need an elite or even great wr to get to/win a super bowl. however, it doesn't hurt your chances if you do have one.
WR is the most overvalued position in the NFL in the sense that having an all pro WR isn't nearly as important as having an all pro RB, all pro OT, all pro CB, all pro QB or all pro LB. You do not need to have plax burress on your team to win a SB.
Burress was an elite reciever....do you disagree with that? Regardless of his SB performance, he was an elite WR
Personally, if this criminal finds his way onto the roster, I will not spend a single cent on this team for the entire time he's here. I'm all about second chances and new starts, but we're talking about a first class scumbag here (see also Lawrence Phillips) who will be long out of the league, while guys like David Harris are appearing in playoff games and Pro Bowls. He's got a rap sheet longer than my arm. Some poeple just NEVER get it. He sounds like one of those guys to me.
Interesting line in an article from one of the Denver papers. I wonder if more has been going on behind the scenes although it doesn't look like anything is getting done. "Marshall is expected back today despite attempts in recent days by his agent, Kennard McGuire, to help facilitate a trade with the New York Jets. " http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_13279299
The Giants don't sniff a SB without not just an elite WR in Buress but the very solid veteran play of Toomer. SB teams have great players all over the place including in the passing game. SB history is filled with not just elite WR but HOF WR.
Brandon Marshall was at the Broncos' practice facility on Sunday, but the team has yet to announce the lifting of his suspension. This bears watching unless they just forgot to let people know. per rotoworld
it seems weird to trade for O'connell it really does, unless something is up regarding a bigger trade.... because their are plenty of guys who would only cost money rather than DP's out there, such as Garcia and Feeley....
Thtat's exactly my point... is Clemens has to go on IR or if you want to trade him why not go after a FA... there where many QBs, young AND vets, who got cut this weekend... If we traded for O'connoll it's either because we believe he has a lot of talent or because of a future trade...
For what it's worth we had a claim in on him when the Pats dropped him this week. I assume we had no idea who else might have wanted him then. Tannenbaum may just be enamored with him.
Kerry Rhodes via twitter.... kerryrhodesjet fans expect a big announcement coming soon lol! 3 minutes ago from web
I think the Jets actually wanted O'Connell because the Broncos would have gotten him if the Lions hadn't claimed him without any trade.
The Denver Post said they did. http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2009/09/06/oconnell-to-jets-a-coincidence/
