We ranked 17 the vs the opponents #1 receiver, 30th against #2 receivers and 31st against opponents slot receivers. That's far from average. In fact, our run Defense only looked as good as it did because teams were so successful throwing against us that the didn't run that often.
Guess that's why "we had to keep Revis"
Back peddle champ, fluid hips, your going to be a pro bowl corner for sure!

Bowser scares me, seems like he would fit in with the typical Jets 2nd round pick, he's a boom or bust guy IMO. Love Willis, but I think he'll be gone by 39, I thought he would be gone in the late first. Kamara looks fantastic, but Cook is just so damn good.

Draft Cook, and make him live with McCown.

So whats left? well not much on the offensive side which is what we need but here are some potential picks for the 2nd round (and 3rd round)

QB Deshone Kizer - Probably not an immediate help, but as it stands now we have 1 QB on the roster for next year. and he can compete with hack for the starting job in 2018

RB Dalvin cook - if he falls to our pick he'll be the BPA. he's a 1st round talent so it's a huge value pick but again not something we need right away, but would pay big dividends in the future

WR Juju - not a big fan of taking a WR here. i think the true number 1 guys are pretty much gone and I like our young talen but he's been mocked to us so i'll add him

TE everett - Fills a huge need but is it worth it? we can get a similar talent TE in the 3rd round easy. someone like butt or hodges

OT antonio garcia - not for the 2nd round but for the 3rd round. it may be a bit of a reach in the 3rd but he's a very similar player to brick we can mold into our starting LT spot next year and for a long time. I don't' like the cam pick in the 2nd because he's a RT and the jets are high on shell. and the rest of the top lineman are guards and centers not a huge need for us. I think garcia would be a great 3rd round pick for us

CB kevin king - i mocked him to the jets in one version of my draft. i wouldn't take him now since we took adams already but still a possibility.

really not loving our options to be honest. I think a trade down would benefit us well. If not i'd grab kizer (huge need), cook(BPA), Everett(huge need) , juju (luxury and last resort) in that order

I don't want to give you too much to read, I m sure Mat Miller and Walter will keep you busy between now and 7
but the Jets Met with Cook twice at the Senior Bowl, also at the Combine, and Stump Mitchell Ran FSUs pro day and then worked out Cook afterwards. I didn't read about it, I was there and watched it.

17th would be average so by your account revis was average lol and skrine and williams were terrible. yet none of that will change with the addition of a hybrid safety.

Overall we were 17th in pass defense (average) 11th in rushing defense (above average) and 11th in total defense (above average) numbers don't lie but keep trying to make shit up

I understand why you think Bowser is boom or bust. He is a bit raw, but he is an explosive, quick-twitch athlete, and is still learning the position due to his playing both football and basketball. Supposedly, he was underutilized as a pass rusher at Houston and dropped into zone coverage and had run responsibilities most of the time. I think Greene could turn him into a beast.

The thing that concerns me most is his intelligence (or lack thereof). He got in a fight with one of his teammates and as a result got a broken orbital bone and missed a number of games this past season. Getting in a fight with a teammate is bad enough, but it sounds like he picked the wrong teammate, who was bigger or a better fighter. LOL

I have no idea who Mat Miller is and don't use Walter as a source. I use NFL.com and CBS Draft Scout. No need to cop the attitude. I've been respectful with you, but if you want to take the gloves off, bring it on. Is Cook your lover or something?

The Corner I really want is Tabor. Cook in 2nd, Butt and Tabor in round 3.... That happens, we won the draft in my opinion

redoing picks based on what has happened in the 1st

    round 2 Kizer - QB
Jets still need a franchise QB and a wise man once said you draft a QB every year. it's the thinnest position and the most important in the NFL. always worth taking a pick. especially with mckown on a 1 year deal and petty on his final year we could head into 2018 with only hack on the roster. even if we bring back petty it makes sense to carry 3 QBs. eventually we have to get one right

Round 3: Jake Butt - TE
the TE position for the jets has been terrible. for many many years. Butt (and his awesome name) draws comparisons to witten. a solid TE in the run game and pass game. a guy who can convert tough 3rd downs. he isn't a playmaker but he is just what we need. a reliable TE who can catch and block

Round 3: Antonio Garcia - OT
might be a little early for him but he won't be there by our 5th round pick. and yes i have a clear theme. rebuilding the offense. we need more talent at the tackle position. beechum is on a 2 year deal and has health issues and shell/ijalana are competing for the RT spot. garcia can add depth and be an eventual starter if we are lucky. he's a similar player to brick

Round 5: Jaylen Myrick - CB
we need to address the CB position at some point. williams didn't play well and is on a 1 year deal. claiborne is a injury risk and on a 1 year deal, skrine is best suited in the nickel and burris is going on his 2nd year. lots of uncertainty in the secondary. myrick can provide us some good depth. he's undersized but is a blazer (4.28 40) plays tough in run support and only allowed 39% completions. he also has returned kicks for 3 years so could be our starting KR something we need a boost in.

Round 6: Shelton Gibson - WR
He's raw but he's a playmaking speedster. built in the deshean jackson mold he can run by DBs and separate. attacks the ball well and can play special teams as a gunner and kick returner

Round 7: Jermaine Eluemunor - OG
he's a project but who isn't in the 7th round. he has size and strength but is still raw. he can be molded into a solid bulldozer of an offensive guard with the right coaching.

It seems insane - but Marcus Williams FS...

Alongside Adams our S position would be set for the next decade.

Garcia likely goes early to mid second round imo. LT skill set has too much demand.

yeah he's been flying up boards all of a sudden. right before the draft he was considered late 3rd early 4th. now i see teams probably taking him in the 2nd which kinda throws a wrench in my plan.

Actually 16.5 would be avg. But the Jets we're far from avg.
Nothing made up. Your the one who couldn't pull Revis' dick out of your mouth. Ic can post a link to the thread where you made every excuse imagineable to keep him.
Revis was beat often, not always by a teams #1 either.
    Here's a more complete breakdown.
I know your another bleacher report lover but try to read it anyway.

I certainly would consider him with our 2nd..give him this year to get stronger and get reps at both OT positions.

I'd take Lamp in a heartbeat but I don't think he will last and it's not worth trading up as we need the picks. Hoping he drops.
