Memphis, Iowa, and ohio state all lose as road ranked teams. I think Memphis is extremely overrated and that they are going to get smacked by Louisville on Saturday.
Oregon beat UCLA, but that game might've hurt their chances. They really did not look good and blew a big lead against a Bruins team without their top two players. Adams and Anderson led the team by a lot in minutes, points, etc. Two most productive and best players, and really the only two guys who got full minutes (25+ a game). Dave Pasch said during the game that this win wouldn't be enough and they still need a win over a team like Arizona. "like" Arizona? The only team they can possibly beat that would be like Arizona is Arizona itself, because they won't be facing any other elite teams the rest of the way (no one close to Arizona in the Pac 12).
I covered that. I was saying no one else in the conference is of that caliber. So even in the tournament they couldn't do that. He should've just said "they have to beat Arizona." There's no "like Arizona" to beat. But if they make the finals of the conference tournament, I would think they'd get in (even if they lost the final).
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/spor...inalists-for-naismith-trophy/article17174954/ Wiggins: under 45% fg, under 36% 3fg more turnovers than assists and 5.8 rebounds I get he's a big name and he's going to be a top 5 pick, but he should not be a Naismith finalist.
Here we go. Cooney missing 3's again. If he can't get back to form we aren't going anywhere the rest of the way or in the tourney. _
St. John's gets a slight boost as Arkansas' upset of #17 Kentucky this week loses a little juice with Kentucky getting upset again, this time to South Carolina a team the Manhattan College Jaspers previously blew out by 18 pts. down in Columbia, S.C. Speaking of the 'little locals,' Iona looks like the slight favorite to grab an NCAA bid out of the MAAC, their Friday night OT loss to Manhattan (who played without their point guard) notwithstanding while Stoney Brook battles the UV Catamounts in the America East Conference and Wagner goes against Robert Morris in the Northeast Conference.
A lot of the other bubble teams seem to keep winning, not a good place for SJU. Will have to take care of their own business to have a chance.
Agreed, just mentioned Kentucky since Arkansas is bubble competition for SJU. Elsewhere, Dayton 20-9 (8-6) moved back into the bubble group with a crucial win over UMass 22-6 (9-5).
Strong showing for 'Nova probably bursting Marquette's bubble. Legit shot at a 2 seed now with a bunch of teams ahead losing. Despite being 26-3 still feel like they're under the radar and I'll take it.
Needed that win against DePaul. The Xavier loss looks ok now with their win over Creighton...I guess we need to win out the last regular season games and a BE tourney game
They aren't out of the discussion for a 1 seed depending upon how they do in the BET. It wasn't pretty but another W for the Heels. Saturday's showdown at duke will be for the 3 seed and who will likely get to play SU on the following Saturday in the semi's of the ACC Tourney. Loser gets the 4 seed and most likely UVa in the semi's. UVa is a good team, they dismantled SU in the 2nd half w/o their best player doing much. If they win the ACC tourney I think they will deserve a 1 seed. Last home game for the Heels tonight vs. ND, hopefully they take care of business and it's not close(though the score was close I never felt the Heels were losing at va Tech unlike the game before at State)
