    Syracuse totally screwed by the refs in that Maryland game. The ACC refs must be protecting their own.

    RE: Wichita State

    I think they'll finish the regular season undefeated and get a #1 seed based on that, but I don't think they're a top four team in the country. Assuming they are not handed a weak region, I would bet against them making the Final Four.

    Stop it. Syracuse has gotten every call all year. Just ask any completely and totally objective ACC fan. :rolleyes:

    not every call but the biggest ones down the stretch of those games that were mentioned and then when one 50/50 call goes against them their overrated whiner of a HC puts on an embarrassing display to call attention to it.

    Nothing to do with Maryland. The refs obviously wanted to punish Syracuse. Didn't matter whether the game was against Maryland, NC State, or BC.

    Ridiculously lopsided game in terms of officiating. If the refs did that to UNC, you'd be screaming for weeks.

    all I saw was the end and they let an obvious foul go in a 1 pt game. Obviously the differential was huge in favor of MD and that may be why it was close, I didn't see it to comment on.

    I have seen plenty of lopsided games this year:

    @UAB: 11 FTs UNC, 28 UAB
    @Wake: 11 FTs UNC, 33 for Wake
    @UVa- 29-12 edge UVa

    Cuse fans back with referee bashing. They take on the personality of their whiner coach, Boeheim is a bitch. Although I hated to see that program I completely disrespect start undefeated like that - at least we had a nice stretch of time we didn't have to hear the crying... sigh.. now it's back to good ole' Cuse basketball!

    Compare a typical Syracuse game in terms of foul/free throw differential and then look at last night.

    It tells you all you need to know.

    I'm not even a Syracuse fan, but I watched that game and it was outrageous.

    LOL. I'm always suspicious of adults whining and bitching about how refs jobbed one team or conspired to help another team. We're men, it's beneath us.

    Also very curious (in that creeped out sort of way) about grown men compulsively invested and protective of college teams that they have no connection to and needing to childishly attack other programs because of some obssession to protect turf that isn't theirs.

    But hey, I've never done it. I guess it's kind of a Notre Dame syndrome.

    Discarding the two FTs Syracuse got after the intentional fouling Maryland did at the end, the FT margin was 27-4

    27-4

    I've not once bashed a ref in my adult life and I'm certainly not going to go on an internet message board to whine about it.

    There are posters here that every single call has gone against them since the 20th century. It's embarrassing.

    Besides, Boeheim's a sweetheart, he just sent me 2 autographed SU basket balls.

    It'll all even out. It always has, it always will. I'd say it's pretty much 50-50 for every team in the nation right now.

    Unless you're not looking at things objectively.

    I have never said a ref intentionally did anything but I don't like seeing games dictated by poor officiating.

    I'm not sure you are a man.

    did you play or work for the Jets? how can you root for them then? same asinine line of thinking. You never played for SU, you weren't even good enough to pick up towels from the players. You think they are playing for you which is sad.

    I feel bad for adults w/ such poor self esteem issues.

    A typical Syracuse basketball game isn't a good barometer because they get the calls more often than not with Boeheim pissing and moaning all game.

    I didn't watch all of last night's ball game, I'll admit, but as a referee myself (all be high school) I hate when people point to free throw differential to prove that they got screwed or something. Sometimes, one team just happens to foul more than the other in a ball game. You could call a perfect game and if the differential is off - because it played out that way, people are gonna bitch.

    From what I saw of that game, I didn't really see refs out to get a certain coach, although I wouldn't blame them after his pissy tirade in Duke that was pathetic and cost his team a ball game.

    Even if you say Syracuse always gets the calls, then it's still suspicious that things suddenly changed last night.

    The point is to compare a normal game Syracuse played with last night's game.

    Syracuse didn't suddenly start playing a dramatically different style where they fouled the other team a lot more and didn't go to the rim.

    as big of an embarrassment as overrated Jim was the other night I really hope they didn't do anything intentional at Maryland. I hope it was just coincidence.

    If SJU wins tonight, which I think they will, they will be 3rd in the conference.
