W/ Pitt's loss last night it all but assures the heels of a top 4 finish and a bye to the qtrs. it will basically come down to the last game at duke to see who gets the 3 and who gets the 4 seed.

The heels were very impressive in dismantling a bad Wake team. For all the whining in Durham about playing 4 games in 8 days the Heels did too(and the reason both teams did was b/c duke didn't show up 2 weeks ago) and played a noon start on Saturday. obviously the opponent wasn't anywhere near the same as what duke played but duke was in a great spot w/ little time to dwell on the Carolina loss.

I was worried a younger Heels team could be full of themselves after the duke win but they came out and crushed Wake. Great sign for this team, they will finally be ranked again today and let's hope they just keep playing great team basketball and keep this win streak going.

What makes you think that they are in good shape? St Johns have only beaten one team (1 and 5) in the top 50 of the RPI. They have 10 losses already. They are barely above .500 against teams between 50 and 100 in the RPI (6 and 4). They really have done a poor job this year. I think this team has the talent to be a top 15 team but have played like a low seeded NIT team.

True, I agree. There are better ways. I just hope this works. They have been playing like crap.

every team has bad stretches, if that is all this then it comes at a good time before postseason.

Heels #19 in the AP poll, it's nice to see them back. Hopefully they keep climbing.

They're going to end up 3rd in the 4th best conference in the NCAA. That's an NCAA team.

They are first in the BE in both of those categories.

Lunardi has SJU as a last four in team. At this point, they still have two games against other bubble teams (Xaiver and Marquette). If they can win both of those, with Depaul sandwiched between them. They're in. Even if they lose one of them, and beat Depaul, I still think theyre in. Of course, this is all dependent on what happens in the BET.

what???? it's not even in the discussion for best conference. it's nothing more than mediocre, a couple of decent teams at the top and not much else. st. john's has a chance to make it but saying the BE is the best doesn't help your case.

    1-5 against rpi top 25
    1-5 against rpi top 50
hovering around .500 in mediocre conference
    zero quality non conf wins
1 good conf win over Creighton at home and besides smashing 'Nova what has Creighton really done?

SJU can make it but they better finish strong and have a good showing(at least qtrs. but probably semi's) in BET

I do agree that the refs needed to be more consistent on both calls. However.. If Boeheim does not go crazy the game is far from over w/ 10.4 left on the clock and Duke shooting 2 FTs. Do you not remember Ennis hitting the game winning 3 a few games ago at the buzzer? All it takes is one missed FT for them to have a Chance to tie the game. Once Boeheim went nuts and gave Duke 4 FTs and the ball back which would lead to another 2 FTs... That was the game. I don't know how you can say otherwise.

Nonetheless, I hope Syracuse wins tonight as I bet on them and would love to see Syracuse vs Virginia for sole possession of the ACC (if I'm not mistaken, too lazy to look it up).

it will be for the reg season title and 1 seed in the tourney. if UVa wins they clinch the reg season title, if SU wins they have the inside track but could lose it if they lose one of their last 2 games

I think that Boeheim thought that the miracles had been used up with the Ennis shot and the Fair layup aginst Pitt and that this was going to be a loss--a very disheartening one at that and while the initial reaction was genuine, the follow up nonesense was just staged. He was taking the bullseye off his guys for losing 2 straight--or what almost a certaintly was 2 straight.

that is such nonsense, they had a realistic chance to win and he cost them that chance. if that was his motivational ploy I guess it explains why he has just 4 FFs in 40 years as a coach. he should have been suspended for his actions or at least reprimanded.

No way do I believe that he staged that act. They still could have won the game!!

Absolutely the second half of that was staged. They were not winning that game and he didn't want his kids to have to answer for losing 2 in a row. It worked, nobody asked them about it, it was all about the tirade.

Wasn't pretty the last 5 minutes but I'll take a win on the road after last week. Actually looked pretty good for most of the game and faltered late. Fair came out aggressive which he's going to need to do more of if we're going to do anything in the tourney.

    Boeheim's ploy worked.
