I don't get it, SU played awful and won. Fair shot air balls all day but NC State chokes at the end. It's like SU is testing how long they can go until they have to try and still win. They will not be able to play this way and win much longer.
Williams gone, and DeJuan Coleman and Keita going down, Boeheim playing a very short bench, etc. and yet the Orange roll on to a school record streak and having a conference record they never enjoyed in the Big East. Granted they were fortunate to survive against the Big East-transfer team Pitt but still, you have to give 'em credit for what is a heckuva streak. And since you are what your (conference) record says you are, I guess the ACC is a good place to be for the undermanned Orange after all
Agreed it's crazy. But it was key getting a huge game out of Christmas when Fair was playing so poorly. We'll beat BC home but if we play like this next Sat at Duke they are going to destroy us. _
Yeah this is an anomaly. We always get off to good starts then lose a bunch of games in conference. I'm not sure if we're really really good or just really lucky. I can still see us losing a few of our last in-conf games. Hopefully Keita is back next Saturday. _
I just watched it again, Well the second half anyway. SU's zone was not as aggressive as they normally are until about 4 minutes left then they turned it up, the last two possession's for NC State they were stifling. NC State was not ready for it and it was the difference in the game.
Where did you see it? When they switched the game time I couldn't get it on tv (which I always DVR) so I had to watch it on-line on ESPN3. Btw, read that Keita is going to try to play wed nite. I'd sit him till sat if it was my choice. Although he said he feels pretty good. _
Michigan and Michigan State were tied atop the Big Ten. Michigan lost at home to Wisconsin. All Michigan State had to do was to beat Nebraska at home. They lost. This opens the door for Iowa. First time Nebraska has beaten Michigan State since joining the conference.
SU didn't play their best obviously but you got very fortunate down the stretch, that very easily could have been a continuation(called one most of the time but not the call by the book) and you hacked the beck out of NC State on the TO that led to the GW basket. also, the fact that State wasn't near the bonus while SU was in the double bonus for a long time. You take any win you can get especially when you don't play your best but you got an assist.
SJU is playing really well lately, they might be the 2nd best team in the BE right now. Carolina wins again, they also are getting better and better and it's pretty amazing they are up to 4th place in the ACC(a game behind 3rd) w/ the start they had. One thing about Roy Williams' teams is that they always seem to get better as the season goes on and that trend appears to be continuing. FSU isn't great but at Tallahassee isn't easy especially after a quick turnaround from Saturday. So does NC State get ranked around 17th this week? they lost a close game at SU. does duke drop 6-7 spots for barely holding on against an unranked MD team? Just wondering since they lost to SU and climbed 6-7 spots a couple of weeks ago.
at least they didn't cost your team a National Championship w/ dirty play like they did to Carolina 2 years ago.
