InsideCarolina @InsideCarolina · 38s UNC just sent out email that game is still on as long as duke can make it then it should be on.
IDK I just thought that the entire eastern region was going to get blasted by the storm at some point today/tonite. It's not supposed to snow here until after midnight, I just thought maybe Pittsburgh would be getting it earlier. Haven't really been tracking the storm, looks like I need to go talk to Jay  _
Wyoming is not horrible, they got SDSU at home in Laramie and most sea level teams struggle up there. They play one of the ugliest brands of basketball I have ever seen but it's effective. Larry Nance Jr is pretty good and I think has a shot albiet outside at playing in the NBA. That looks awesome, wonder why Dook isn't a part of it? Oh yeah they don't believe in playing a good OOC schedule. To be fair there is a chance we might end up playing Dook at the Barclay's Center next season.
Well let's be honest, Texas hasn't been a big time program for a while. They have a name and $$$ but until this year have been a major disapointment for a long time. Michigan State is still my favorite major conference team because I love Izzo. They are never easy for anyone but I may try and head to the Staples Center for this but it's so long away.....
They have been good this year and they will be back, it's so far down the road who even knows if Izzo and Roy will still be coaching?
Andy Katz @ESPNAndyKatz · 1m Duke has been told that they may postpone the game at UNC due to safety concerns. Official announcement soon.
refs made it, TV made it, fans are on their way but duke cannot make it b/c they waited too long to leave.
it's not right that duke gets to dictate, they have fans braving the conditions to get there. if it was going to be called off should have been hours ago, classless move by duke but what else would we expect?
It's pretty awful to do this, I agree with junc. 5:30 they announce the game is postponed. That's terrible. If you're going to postpone it, give more advance notice. I bet ESPN is upset also, considering their schedule has been turned upside down. They've been promoting the game for a week or so.
Yeah pretty ridiculous. I get that they're only 9 miles away or whatever but to wait until 6 to leave campus seems like terrible planning giving the fact that the weather was expected to be bad and it's not it's a s urprise.
Teams usually get to the arena earlier than 3 hours before the game I would think. Here they were going to leave 3 hours before the game? Messed up.
they could have figured that out much earlier, it is a complete disregard for people other than those associated w/ the duke program. It's typical, gutless K. The game should have been postponed but it should have been done at noon not 5:30 but when it wasn't called off people were travelling to the dome, the refs were there, the TV crew was there and duke waits until 6PM to board a bus as if the weather was perfect. Carolina travelled in severe weather a few weeks back at Ga tech, they were stuck in the Atl airport having to take trains and walk miles to get to the hotel so they were ready to play. it was so bad TV crew couldn't get there and yet Carolina showed up and played. They better make the make-up game at an inconvenient time for duke, they better not work it out in their best interests.
under normal circumstances they loosen up at home then drive over so they aren't there that early but that is if the weather is fine not in a snowstorm. the latest they should have left was 4PM.
What pisses me off is that Duke knew the weather was bad so they acted as if they wanted to be the ones to dictate if it was postponed instead of this being a mutual decicion between the schools. I'm sure Carolina would not have taken issue of they got a call 3 or 4 hours ago saying the weather would be an issue and Duke didn't want their fans to travel or their team on the roads but instead they wait until fans are alreayd on their way. Very selfish on their part.....
McDermott was straight money the game @ Creighton. SJU did a fantastic job of covering him this time around, and he still had 25 points! SJU goes to NJ tomorrow night to take on SHU. I wonder if they'll be able to play the game.
