RE: Ryan Kelly their level of play has gotten noticeably worse since they lost him. He was playing over 28 minutes a game for them, and it's hard to lose a guy playing starter's minutes and not feel the impact. 15-0 with him (including wins over teams raked #2, #3, and #4 at the time), 7-3 without him.
every year they start out hot then fade and they don't have injuries every year. of course losing a starter will hurt but this is a program that overcame the loss of kyrie Irving 2 years ago and they can't overcome a solid role player like Kelly? They have had plenty of time to adjust and haven't done a good job of it. It's an excuse.
Villanova needs to go 3-1 against a tough final four games, plus one win in the Big East Tourney to be in, IMHO.
the state of Florida having two top 5 teams is pretty unusual Florida fell to Missouri though. Tough road game.
They are going to have to win games like that in March and UVa is not a bad team. Good win for them. Nice win for the heels too, taking care of business blowing out Ga Tech in the 2nd half after a close first half. Huge game on saturday vs. State.
By the way, carolina last night finished the same stretch of games duke played and not a single word was brought up about it during the broadcast- I wonder why?
I've noticed lately that ESPN doesn't understand when 'the bonus' starts. After the sixth team foul, the next foul triggers the bonus. But they don't show it until more fouls have been committed.
I always say this. They show bonus after the 7th foul, but it's really after the 6th. SJU wins easily against USF. Much needed win, now a big game at MSG against PITT this weekend.
just brought it up in the thread because I hadn't seen anyone post about it. It's funny because ESPN airs so many college basketball games, but they don't really understand some of the basic rules.
He'll always be Miano to me, I don't know what the name change was all about. Unless he doesn't want to be called Miano I will call him Miano:jets:
I haven't posted it in this thread, but I have mentioned in numerous times while watching games. I totally agree with you.
Saw the SJU game...USF was terribly in the first half and then started making every shot in the 2nd half. Would have been abigger blowout. SJU has to beat one of these top ranked teams or we will be one of the first four out
It's always cool... I always loved that guy (one of the few Hawaii players we have had). I love the floor. Where did you find that? I am going to try and go to run the gauntlet this March. WCC Tournament Semi's and Finals PAC 12 1st round (although I guess technically 2nd round) MWC Semi's WAC (something) Hard to imagine all 4 of these tournaments are taking place less then twenty minutes from my house.
I could see St. John's upsetting Pittsburgh at the Garden on Sunday. Unfortunately I can also see them losing at Providence. Johnnies need to win 3 of their last 4, beating Pitt, Providence and Marquette (will probably lose at ND) and win a game in the BE tournament to put them at 20-11 which (with 5 wins vs. top 50 teams) would probably get them in the NCAA's. Lemme guess: nobody cared?
