    No, Tony they dont.

The last time something like that happened (ironically it was the Jets)

    Was this
Stephen Peterman had never played Center in his life. He started training 4 days prior.

    Thats grotesque.

I don't think anybody can argue this offense doesn't look leagues more competent than last years debacle, or that sanchez isn't more competent running it... how much that subdue his mistake prone tendencies and how much that matters for the long run is where debate starts.

but the offense is better alright. no doubt.

No he did not. The Jets will win more with Geno. What part of worst QB in the NFL is hard to understand???

Lets compare their skill sets, listing the advantages of each QB:

    Sanchez

    Experience
    Footwork
    Playbook knowledge

    Geno

    Arm strength
    Accuracy
    Movement in pocket
    Screens

correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he play with the backup line vs the jags too at one point?

I mean when I saw him come in i wasn't phased for a second because I thought this had already happened.

Sanchez had 26 turnovers in a full season, playing in a shit offense.

Geno had four in 3 quarters.(inluding a Safety)

Which part of worst OC in football did you not understand.

    Read the OP.

    Essentially the same cast.

Geno Smith, if he starts this year, is a colossal disaster waiting to happen. He must not start this year. Watch his drop backs on pass plays. It makes everyone cringe. It is a complete disaster. Really. He does NOT scan the field while he drops back. [1] He does NOT plant the back foot on the last step during the drop back [2] and he just wings the ball out with his arm strength alone [3]. Lastly, he does not use his eye sights to guide the defender while scanning the field. [4] Since he does not scan the field while dropping back, he has to scan in a hurry, and that means his eye sight adjustment is a disaster too. If you read his sights, you can tell where the ball is going. That's the four pillars of throwing interception - the only thing worse is throwing off the back foot [Sanchez was a master of it last season.] He will have to correct his throwing mechanics and fundamentals before even contemplating about starting in the NFL. He didn't just throw three picks out of thin air without a reason.

P.S. I wouldn't mind another QB pick in next year's draft - but HE HAD BETTER COME FROM PRO OFFENSE BACKGROUND. Especially if the Jets are not keen on keeping the QB prospect on the pine for a few years.

I think if Geno stops staring down his receivers he should be fine. Thats whats causing his INT's.

You are comparing the turnover total of an entire season played by a QB who started 4 full years to 3 preseason quarters played by a rookie who has never taken an NFL snap and inferring something about the significance of the OC out of that? Ok, that makes tons of sense...

yeh ive been talking about this since his first preseason game

his footwork needs a lot of improvement if he is going to play in regular season action. its just so wildly inconsistent that it is going to lead to bad things happening. can anybody here really say they are confident in geno taking the snap, turning and dropping back and handing the ball off with the way his footwork is right now? hes taking like 6-7 steps on 3 step drops just shuffling his feet to get to his spot on the field. it looks horrible and you cannot put him out there to start the season.

someone up there said he has pocket presence? really? cause i could have sworn this kid ran out of the endzone instead of sliding to his right and getting rid of the ball in pure panic mode...

im not saying geno sucks, but hes got work to do if he wants to play in this league.

Zach is partially right in what he is saying ... but not using sight lines had ZERO to do with any of the three interceptions he threw.

#1) should have been completed pass, but ball was on Spadola's back hip with Prince Amukamora (spelling?) in a trailing position. In fact Spadola had him beat handily and would have had room for some YAC.

#2) To me this was the worst of the three picks, i have re watched this a few times ... I think he panicked from the pressure and just threw the ball up for grabs ... wasn't close.

#3) A fanticastic play by Tuck, and a great defensive play call to trap the rookie. Geno will get this with time ... but expect others to throw the zone blitz at him alot.
