I agree that the first pick should be offense whether OL/WR/TE unless there is some crazy steal at a defensive position of need. After that BPA is the way to go, but it's important to keep in mind that we get some cap room for the first time in years next year and adding a key FA or 2 would probably have more of an impact on the field in the 1st year than anything we could do in the draft. With some compensatory picks coming this roster could be absolutely loaded next season if our key young guys develop well and we have a QB of the future on the roster.
I simply pointed out that Cromartie deserved being in the pro bowl and was one of the best in the league. "We gave up a wide open touchdown on a blown assignment to Aaron Dobson that lost us the game considering we lost by 3." If I misinterpreted that, I apologize. It sounded to me like you were placing the blame on the passing defense for losing the game. Of course Rex doesn't want that and is upset about it. But it's one mistake. People are acting like our DBs have been getting constantly torched but that's not the case. I can only think of a couple of plays that we gave up at all in those games. Our defense seems to have a knack for giving up first drive scores and final drive scores, but they are solid for the large majority of the game. I see your concern, but I think the LB core is weaker. Coples could still emerge as a beastly LB, but we shall see. We've been a little spoiled with Revis, but it seems to me like people haven't really been throwing at Cromartie that often. I know he hasn't really put up any stats yet, but if you don't see him on TV a lot it's a good thing, because they aren't throwing his way due to tight coverage. It's also really early in the year. I really wish I had the all 22 thing so I could see him on each play.
What??? Santonio and wallace were their main WR's and we have 1 of them. AB & ES were not even drafted high, like what you are smoking.
Updated original post!! As of right now, the defense dropped to 4 and offense went up to 10. Granted, the Denver game is still going on and Oakland is ranked 3rd, which will now change, but our offense jumped to 10!! Holy shit, I can't remember the last time we were ranked that high haha
Like I thought, our defense has moved up from 4 to 3 after the Oakland game. Offense is still ranked at #10
Great news about the offense. Hopefully we can continue to build on that. MM has already made a huge, VERY noticeable difference. I'm also excited about Geno continuing to develop.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2013/week/4 Hilarious. Giants and Jets practically swapped places. Jets at 18, Giants at 29 in the Power rankings. Those guys are pure trend followers. But I thought the Jets were gonna be the worst team in the league for years to come.
