Peyton "exposed" our nickle and dime backs because we were forced to do heavy blitzes to even try to generate pressure. A rush OLB does more to improve the secondary play than adding a nickle or dime back.

I say we go DL in the second and pick up an Elite Pass rusher in the first Hughes or Kindle would be a huge upgrade at getting the Qb and we get a big DE in the second... Ryan can make a second rounder a pro bowler in a couple years..

You fuckin' kidding me? You think because Turner subbed a few SNAPS that he's a capable backup? He isn't. And if one of our starters goes down, we have a gaping hole along the line. Ease up on the koolaid.

I totally agree. I don't think the issue is the CB, it's the rush. As much as I hate to say it, Taylor could help in this respect. Although I'd rather look anywhere else.

I think any cb we pick in round one would be our #3 ahead of Lowery and maybe become our #2 if we don't bring back Cro next year. Regardless, I believe Rex wants to do better than Lowery and Coleman behind his starters.

You can't draft by position like that...

He also exposed our nickel and dime backs because he's Peyton Manning, and that's what he does. We don't have to draft a #3 or #4 CB in the first round just so we're prepared to play the Colts.

The 3-4 doesn't require DEs to be good pass rushers. If you mean best pass-rushing DE that we could convert to an OLB, that would make more sense in my opinion.

Lowery surprised me a few times near the end of 2009. Especially in the Chargers game, when they had him covering Vincent Jackson. But Coleman - I know you aren't going to get elite performance out of your 4th or 5th corner, but the dude becomes the #1 target every time he's on the field. Everyone - EVERYONE - goes after Coleman.

Poole just scares me for obvious reasons so some help behind him at the safety position is important.
I know we have Smith but we do need another safety imo.

Easy big fella. I didn't say Turner was all pro, it is just that when everyone was saying we had no depth, they kept mentioning Slauson and were ignoring the fact that Turner is ahead of him on the depth chart. I agree Iupati would be an upgrade, I just think we need a nickel back more. Put it this way, I think we will be a better team next year with say Wilson, Lowery, Turner and Slauson than with Lowery, Coleman, Iupati and Turner.

when was devito named douglas' replacement? he is a depth player, and we need to draft a de in the 1st round so they can be an impact starter for his rookie year, improving our chances to win the superbowl
