I'm probably going to punch myself in the forehead when the decision comes out but here's my take. Dream:Gamble,Weis Nightmare:Kahn, or Angelo; Cameron
I really think it will be Cohen/Cameron guys, just get ready for it. Woody doesn't know anything about football.
(Of the candidates interviewed) Best Scenario - Sundquist/Jackson I'd accept - Gaine/Gamble/Mortenwig Horrible - Angelo/Cameron
I'm starting to pray for a set like GM- Ted Sundquist OC- Pep Hamilton QB- Tyler Wilson Sundquist traded up for Cutler, Pep helped develop Luck, Wilson is a Cutler clone All these things fit so well together
Cohen/Cameron is actually a good scenario for the Jets. They can be hired to be scapegoats of a losing season. That way, we can fire them in 2014 where the cap situation will be better, and we'll be in a position to draft Bridgewater. That situation will be a lot more attractive for coaches and GM's
It will be a lot more attractive ONLY if Rex is gone with them after the losing season. Otherwise it will just be more retread interviews once again.
Totally agree. This is probably the best we can hope for at this point which is sad. This is why you do not fire a GM and retain a lame duck HC. No GM worth their salt wants to come into a situation like this....Being force-fed a HC that you didn't select and with a cap situation that is among the worst in the NFL. Sad reality is that the true rebuilding process is at least a year away. Best thing that can happen next season is a complete meltdown and a #1 pick in 2014 that we use to select a franchise player.
You want to hear a true nightmare scenario?......"The New York Jets have announced that Woody Johnson will step into the role of General Manager on an interim basis".
i think i want that popp guy from the cfl. looks like he really knows how to win and keep a winning team together/relevant through changes. i think i want popp.
I think Popp would be in interesting choice. He has kept a team winning for years up north. We are going to have a problem with being able to find players with our salary cap situation. He knows the CFL in and out. Maybe it gives us a chance to find some talent to help us win from up there at a reduced cost.
