You know what RT... you are a freaking genius! I agree with you on this. You can get really good (and already panned out so you don't play roulette with 'em) OL in free Agency.
LMAO, good one. I dont know what the big deal is. Were excited about our lines potential. We got the foundation set, now hopefully the pieces fall into place. Its not like were saying we are superbowl bound in year 1
And this is coming from a respected poster! Thank You... Good to see some common sense in here!
I agree with you mostly on this and with Royal Tee, when we had one of the best offensive lines in the league some years ago we had experienced players, players that were proved that they can perform, that line was built with free agents and it worked perfectly. I don't like to throw away money in a bet, I hope that Brick works out well for us because we already have him, but this is like playing russian roulette, he can be a bust because he is not a proved guy, we don't know if this guy will lose speed when he gets some more pounds, we are talking here about 15 pounds and they do affect, I know that some of you will say that drafting Leinart or giving a lot for Bush would have the same risk but for example imagine if we drafted Leinart, then if he become a bust we can replace him with what we had, Ramsey or Penny, but if D'Brick will be a bust, who are we going to replace him with and we will not have protection anyway for the QB we will have the same situation then, and that is why I like to address the o-line with free agents or in any case making trades. I hope Dbrick will work well for us.
i was really kind of disapointed during the draft, but when i think back on it, im satisfied. i didnt even know dbrick was from strong island, which i think is great to have a local kid when most players today are from the south. mangold i think could be a stud aswell. if we could find a gem somewhere in the second day, this will be a quality start.
And yet the Pats draft Oline in the first and second. Light, Woody, Klemm, Mankins. The Jets drafted smart today. I know its a tough pill to swallow ... but they looked to the future instead of trying to make the big "splash" I here some of you talking about. They filled the two most important positions on the Oline ... Left Tackle "body guard" for the QB ... and Center "QB" of the line. Future QB in Clemens (we hope ... but the same could have been said of any QB taken) .... and as for the 3rd round picks - lets give the kids a chance to show what they can do before you vote em off the island. Everything I have read about the two basically states they are leaders on the field and sound, hard hitting tacklers. Are they "flashy"? Nope ... but they are sound, hard nose players. I look forward to seeing what they can do.
