I think their d-line is going to be much more important than the o-line. The Pats rush probably isn't going to be that great anyways. If the d-line generates a rush by itself though, then the outlook will be very good for the the NYJ and their HC.
I cant agree with those who think the Line didn't do its job early on. For a god damn change we didn't abandon the run and stayed with it until it opened up the passing lanes , when they tried to adjust to the passes we ran it down their throats. I will be happy in every game , if this becomes the pattern to victory.
I was really not going to respond to this utterly stupid thread but wtf. Houston loaded the box in the beginning of the game. They begged Sanchez to beat them and he did. Schott changed the plan and threw the ball more and guess what? The Texans dropped back in coverage and the run game magically opened. Only Jet fans can turn a mound of gold into a mound of shit. Also there were some QB pressures that were designed roll outs and such because one of Sanchz strengths is being able to throw on the run. Mario Williams is a monster and was shifted all over the fucking place. A guy that good can only be contained, not stopped. Gee guess what? The fucking O-line contained him pretty well. The guy is a protoypical defensive lineman for f sake. For fuck sake look at the video again before making a thread like this. F this thread and F Jet fans that believe this garbage.
The issue here is not our offensive line, but the fact that retribution works both ways. Rex says you take one of ours out, we'll take two of yours out. I love it. But that doesn't stop us from worrying that when we take Brady out, it makes the bulls-eye on Sanchez's back bigger, and makes a dirty play against him a greater possibility. Also, this team and this euphoria looks a lot different without Sanchez in the lineup. Well, nothing we can do about that. At least we have a QB worth worrying about.
Because you have to continue to try to run, to at least keep the hint of the run to help keep them in the box and open up some passing. Selling out completely early in a game is a big mistake.
