When I'm rich I'm exhuming Andrew Jackson from his grave and bringin him back to life and makin him Yankee manager. That way he'd make this sweaty fat asshole march to the location of our next game every time he blows a game.

Posada sucks. Great play at home to let them tie and almost gave the lead up with the over throw.

If I don't drink? No, rarely. I'm not a professional athlete, though, and neither are you. If this team loses in the playoffs it won't be because of fatigue. I'm glad Girardi atleast tried to win the division.... Now they get a couple days off.

It might not be solely because of "fatigue," but you or I don't need to be professional athletes to know whether it's is a factor... just ask the people who are in the game. All of them tell you that they're banged up at the end of the year. It's not stuff that goes away completely in just two days with no games.

I put fatigue in quotes above because that's kind of moving the goal posts a bit. I never said they should rest players because they're tired. I said it's because guys like Cano and Jeter - while healthy enough to play - are still almost assuredly banged up a bit. Bruises, sore knees, whatever.

[quot]'m glad Girardi atleast tried to win the division.... [/QUOTE]
...and failed. And still played Tex and Swisher in all the games. And used Hughes in relief.

That was the other thing. There was no guarantee that they'd win the division by starting the players. There would have been the guarantee that guys like Jeter and Cano would have been feeling a bit fresher. Oh well.

Swisher and Teixiera playing should be taken as a sign that they aren't hurting as bad as you say they are. On to the playoffs.

Or that Girardi was "going for the kill," as you wanted.

But I never made any claims as to how bad they were hurting. Just that rest would benefit them.

I mean, did you see Swisher running the past two games? Pretty sure the knee is still bothering him. And Tex had a broken toe and a bone bruise on his thumb.

Whatever. The Yanks got the better matchup despite taking the less optimal path.

Way to go Yanks. Have your own destiny in your hands, and give it away to AAA Pawtucket. At least everyone else limped into the playoffs too, so it's not like anyone is really "hot" right now.
