still pitches tonight? Not sure what you mean.

Will he pitch tonight, with the trade and everything?

That was my intent behind that post, but I read that the Yankees made a gentleman's agreement not to pitch Lee until after they left Seattle. Nice long vacation for Mr. Lee.

    sounds like Lee and Werth.

The thing is, I'm not sure if the deal will be done today. If not, maybe Seattle will still use him.

If Seattle has any intentions of trading or using the Yankees to bump up his price, they won't pitch him. The Yankees have made it clear they don't want to see him pitch.

ok, now it sounds like the Yankees won't get him.

Lee still scheduled to pitch tonight.

I doubt he is anymore. Looks like a done deal with the Rangers.

Yeah, the change was made about a half hour ago.

    New starter

The Texas Rangers landed Seattle Mariners ace Cliff Lee for first baseman Justin Smoak and three top prospects, USA TODAY has learned.

The Rangers and Mariners later formally announced the deal. The Mariners, who nearly traded Lee to the Yankees today, also will receive Class AA right-handed pitchers Blake Beavan and Josh Lueke and Class AA infielder Matthew Lawson.

Texas also will receive relief pitcher Mark Lowe, out for the season with a back injury, and more than $2 million from Seattle.

The Rangers went to bed late Thursday night believing they had lost out on Lee to the New York Yankees. Yet, the Mariners balked when looking at some medical reports, opening the door for the Rangers. The Rangers then substituted Smoak for Triple-A first baseman Chris Davis, finalizing the deal.

The Rangers were ecstatic with the news, believing this is the move they need to win the American League West.

This makes the Russell Branyan trade that much worse.

He hasn't be too bad yet, but I'm still scared that we're seeing bad Joba tonight.

ETA: And there he goes. Joba to the pen! Fucking idiots.

    Fuck you, Joba.

And fuck you, ump. Those were some horrendous strike 3 calls in the ninth. You should be ashamed.

Cashman ruined him and the only reason he is still on the team is because that asshole couldn't take the heat he would get if he gets rid of him.
