I was thinking the same thing. I'm more than cool with that.

Yeah it's pretty clear. That's what I thought when I heard last night.

Of course the Yankees are happy and fine with it.

I can't really be upset because this happens all the time with All Star games in every sport. The players don't have much incentive to play, so they're more than happy to take the honor and the money and sit out.

I'm sure he is hurt somewhat, but it's not something serious that would prevent him from pitching. But like I was saying, this happens all the time.

Right. I'm sure there is maybe a sore knee involved rather than any actual problem with it. It's an "injury" so it works.

Insterestingly enough, suddenly Robbie Cano has bowed out of the Home Run contest thanks to a "minor back issue."

The All-Star game in every sport should be run like football. After the season, in a tropical place (well, aside from last year.) Players should not have to worry about hurting themselves in a game that really means nothing (even counting Selig's idiotic determination of World Series home field.)

All-Star games are a silly gimmick. It's time to treat them as such.

Yankees getting baserunners every inning, but Gio Gonzalez has been able to work his way out of trouble each time.

    Scoreless in the 3rd.

In any game there's an injury risk, but yeah, if it's after the season, there's less of a chance that the injury will affect the meaningful games.

With football, it's even more imperative, because there's a much greater risk of injury in a football game than there is in basketball or baseball.

    RE: Cano

Girardi and Cashman pretty much made the call. Cano wanted to do it.

Gardner walks, steals second, and is singled home by Pena, who is now 2/2

Teixeira three run homer, and it's unfolding like last night's game, when the A-Roid grand slam broke it open.

5-1 (Jeter had the go ahead RBI single).

    Very good game from Burnett.

Just like last night, after the home run to break it open, there were no runs scored in the next few innings.

dude thats a great point. I dunno...I cant stand the Sox games anymore...thats for sure. INterleague is assbag. The A's are unwatchable as are the INdians, Royals, Orioles, And Mariners. So I like Rays, Jays, Tigers, Twins, Rangers and Angels games I guess. To many fuckin games is the problem
