It may just be me, but I never saw Smith as really a good WR. He was a very good KR, and good at the wildcat, but thats about it. Expecting him to come in a be a solid contributor on offense is asking too much IMO. At vet min to help on kickoffs? Sure. But there are other WR's Id rather have.

  2. Will always respect Smith for what he was for this franchise. But we're talking about an aging player who isn't going to contribute much as a WR & who wouldn't be much of an upgrade over Mcknight as a KR. Put him in the same boat as Braylon. Did alot of good things for the Jets but it's time to move on.

Absolutely. This organisation is in the business of rebuilding (properly) and there's no way we have another Smith on the team unless he's brought in to mentor, which is doubtful.

Brad Smith just isn't anything remotely resembling an NFL quarterback. The guy threw two passes in Buffalo, and they were BOTH intercepted...true story. The guy has completed four passes in the NFL over 7 years. Chan Gailey is gone from Buffalo, and so too will the Wildcat...and Brad Smith.

Whether Smith gets cut depends on how the kids they drafted and UDFAs pan out in TC. They invested heavily in the WR position but BS is still a very serviceable player capable of contributing in several aspects of the game. For a team with holes to fill, a very inexperienced WR corps and taking into account the risk of injury and Smith's versatility I think he makes their roster.

Brad Smith makes 3.6 million dollars a year..we don't have 3.6 million penneys..we are not signing any free agents over vet minimum.

I think him and McKnight on ST's would be awesome. At what price though for Smith? Vet min? absolutely.

I see Smith as a guy that excelled in a very well coached ST unit. Smith didn't make all of those plays just by himself. Well designed blocking goes a long way. He practically vanished after he went to Buffalo. I don't really want to bring him back. If anyone, bring back Cotchery or even Edwards. Mcknight is just as good a returner on special teams and he has more future potential IMO. I'll take WR depth over another returner any day.

Wait a sec! Wasn't Tebow just released? We should pick up THAT guy. I am sure he'll fit in great. I can't believe any team would have released him.... Oh.... Wait..... Never mind......
