I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan brought in some more ex-Ravens.

It will be easier for those guys to come in and pick things up quickly.

Tom Zbikowski and Dawan Landry are two options at safety.

Of this group, here's who I see the Jets re-signing. Weatherford, (although he struggled late in the season and in the playoffs is still a solid kicker), Braylon Edwards, Wayne Hunter, Robert Turner (for OL Depth), Folk is DONE. Holmes, Brad Smith, Ihedigbo (ST Beast), Laury, maybe for special teams, and possibly Marquice Cole again for ST help. I can see us re-signing Cro, if he'll take an incentive filled contract and less guaranteed money.

We need DE, DT, OLB, Safety, OL as our pressing needs in the draft and offseason.

And that's why LT needs to stay here. I get it that he has a $3.3 million price tag, but look at how much better Shonn Greene is catching the ball this season. With another offseason with LT (and I fully expect both backs to be training with him this offseason regardless of the status of the season), we'll be fully prepped to go with Greene, McKnight, and a rookie in 2012.

With all due respect to the guy, he's not our general manager.

Why in the world would Cro take a contract with less guaranteed money? He'll need guarantees. The only way Cro gets resigned is if he REALLY values the guarantee of getting some payment this season if there's a lockout.

We need to find a stud safety late in the draft, there has to be a few that will be on the board in the 3rd or 4th round (considering we don't have our 2nd cause of Cromartie)

Good point. Have to hope the Ravens' problems (can you imagine having to resign Ngata?) lead to one of them being available. Part of that depends, however, on Ed Reed's decision this offseason. The nice part is, that stalls attempts by the Ravens to resign at least one of them.

If the schedule goes to 18 games, the rosters will have to expand from 53.

Also, I mentioned this is another thread...having all of these free agents is a blessing.

The guys leaving couldn't get it done and the Jets will have the opportunity to bring in a bunch of new guys (FAs and draftees).

The key players I'd like resigned are Braylon, Eric Smith, Cromartie, I disagree with Mr. E, Wilson is not ready to cover #2 WRs so Cromartie is essential. This is of course assuming the DLine isn't overhauled, because our sacks are coverage sacks.

Let Holmes walk if the CBA allows him to remain restricted, slap a 2nd round tender on her and get the pick the Jets lost with Cromartie back.

Other than that, I'd let everyone else walk.

I think we need to wait and see who gets contract extensions before we can address our "needs" One thing thats for sure is we need to address the pass rush situation

Damn right. He is, however, a master of the presser. I read that statement as:

"If these guys want to be here, they need to be team players when it comes time to talk contracts."

We already know Braylon will be. Holmes is that fucking wildcard.

    Alrighty then.

I guess I can hope his mediocre play was related to his injury. He did very little this year.

Probably a lone opinion, but if it's between Holmes and Edwards..I'd rather keep Holmes. I love Braylon..but I found Holmes to be a far more dependable.

I'd like Cro back as well, but to be fair, it doesn't matter where Wilson is now. It matters where he is by training camp. Nothing is stopping these guys from working out on their own. Wilson needs to be on Revis' hip for the next several months.

I hope so too. I'm also hoping we upgrade the rest of the front 7 so he becomes more of a complement in the pass rush instead of the focal point.

Yeah but do you really think that the Jets are going to spend 7 or 8 million a year on two WR's?

If these two guys account for something like $17-$18 million per year that would be insane.

They will have a cap again, both sides have basically agreed to that. If the cap was $120 million then that would mean they would have around 20% of the salary cap at wide receiver include Cotchery.

I never said Wilson was ready, I said he was brought in to take that spot.

There's already money invested into this position - it's smart to move on.

Playing #2 corner is a lot different than playing nickel or dime. With a full season of experience, an entire off-season, and a training camp without Darrelle Revis holding out should do wonders for him.

I saw first hand what Kyle Wilson is capable of when he playing with sideline help. He's got what it takes to start in this league.

It's comforting to know that Revis won't be holding out this training camp

It's better than spending 7 to 8 million dollars a year on a bunch of linebackers.

This team has to be built around Mark Sanchez.
