Got it. I suspect it's much lower but we'll see. EDIT: Also, the 2009 cap was going to be 123 and only got boosted to 128 only because of the imminent lockout. Because the economy's been in the shitter for 2009 and 2010 (most teams aren't increasing ticket prices, lots of teams are having trouble selling seats, etc) I doubt there will be big increases for 2009-2010. ) I think we're looking at a 135 million cap but with rosters expanded by 3-4 guys.
I disagree with you for one reason, in bold. keeping both WR gives us the ability to be flexible and beat teams in multiple ways. If you have a terrible run defense, we will run it down your throat. If you have a weak secondary we will play pitch and catch around the yard. Having an enormous amount of weapons is never a bad thing. Also who says Sanchez can't be a play action QB with both Braylon and Tone? we should still run the ball more than pass it, but this offense should start moving towards Sanchez arm. Also in the 45-3 game, don't you think we were forced into a pass first offense when we were down 17-0 inside of 10 minutes? but you shouldnt worry about us having too many weapons, just worry about the OC properly calling the games.
Given the loosening the rules changes effectively have amounted to, the emphasis has been to increase the prevalence of the passing plays around the league. You see more and three wideout sets than you used to. The third wideout is in the game more than any other offensive player on the bench. You need three good ones to compete.
