Sanchez has 2 pics in 2 games, one pic for 6 points and one pic in Redzone costing the team points..and that ridiculous end of half play where he cost the team 3 points,,,If Smith plays good tonight, doesn't turn ball over and scores some points he should be starter..All Sanchez has proved is he is still the same sorry Sanchez as last year.
I somewhat agree. I kind of wanted Sanchez to start the season until the Jets felt Geno was ready to step in and take over. The problem is Sanchez is still making the poor decisions that have plagued him during his first 4 seasons in the league. He keeps turning the ball over and can't manage the game. You can't throw him out there if he is still doing that, what kind of message does that send? They would be better off going with McElroy for the first 2-4 games until they felt Geno was ready. Sanchez has shown nothing this preseason to prove to coaches or fans that he is not going to keep making the same mistakes he's always made. At this point I think if Geno plays well tonight the Jets have to seriously consider naming him the starter.
so much for that, 3 TOs, one inexcusable safety later and the only reason geno is even in the running is b/c Mark got hurt. geno is not ready, I hope he is ready at some point this year/start of next year but he's clearly not ready now.
He showed some good things, he was excellent in the screen game, he can throw the football but he had normal rookie moments. I think he'll be fine, not all players are ready from day 1 but this kid has ability and it's marty/Lee's job to develop him(for now).
But you disregard Sanchez's horrendous 4 turnovers this preseason including that fumble Saturday night in your commentary and do it with a straight face I bet too. If anybody is not ready it is Sanchez who hasn't improved one iota in 4 years.
only on this site the defense for Geno continues. The guy simply isnt ready. It isnt hard to see and understand Sanchez is the best option going in. There's no need to argue back and forth over and over again about this fact.
You can't possibly make that determination based on a single game..you can't. He outplayed Sanchez all week in practice and the coaches who I would bet know a shitload more than you or I do think he IS ready.
how can that be? Word was that Geno overall has been ok in practice while Sanchez was lighting it up. Then Sanchez plays of an actually preseason games and does ok. Geno finally plays some significant downs in a Preseason game and totally flops. Geno proved he anit ready for an NFL start. I mean seriously, why dont you see that? I'm not trying to be funny but its clear, HES NOT READY!
that would be 3 TOs and he was a guy expected to start coming in relief in the 4th qtr of a preseason game I can excuse that TO. Sanchez has looked very good outside of a play here or there. You watched practice? and when the lights were on during the game what happened? I am NOT giving up on geno but he looked like a man not ready to start in this league. To be fair he hasn't had a ton of chances but he didn't have to look great, he just had to look ready and he clearly didn;'t look ready.
Really? It was an "inexcusable" safety? If your boy Sanchez did that, you'd conjure up some wacky excuse...
like I did last week when I bashed him for not getting at least a FG at the end of the half and allowing the clock to run out? It's so cute when people make things up b/c they have nothing else.
