Ok , that's the part where I got lost. At the end of the second period, they had those times, and on that point, I agree with you.
I'm sorry, but in this instance, I have to agree with @NYJFOREVER . You had every "expert" and studio analyst fellating the "kid line" for a week. Now Gallant is essentially cutting their time in half? Tell me how that makes sense?
Gallant not making line adjustments is a common theme with Gallant that has gotten him fired from Florida and VGK. He sticks to his lines and lets his players play, which leads to a lot of regular season success. His .500 record in the playoffs attests to how well that has worked for him in the playoffs. Teams in the playoffs throw their lines in the blender and send out their best players to do whatever they can to win games.I will be the first to admit that I am not an NHL coach and will never understand the game of hockey like the coaches do. To not play one of your best lines for more than 8 or so minutes through 2 periods is inexcusable. We can both agree Chytil is one of their hottest players right now, right? Why did he only have 8 minutes through two periods yesterday? It's the same shit in every game. The weirdest thing to me is that he started the kids as a show of confidence but then proceeded to play barely play them through 2 periods. It wasn't even like we were on the powerplay or penalty kill a lot in those periods, which would explain low minutes from the kids. The Rangers struggled to possess the puck in the offensive zone for most of the game and Gallant didn't play his best puck possession line.
you dont know the state of the team neither do i Gallant does. ( iam not SPECIFICALLY defending minute to minute decisions by an experienced nhl coach ) but you 2 pretending that you could do bettrer ? whatever. 2x defending SC winnres hold serve at home. that's what? a shock?
2nd part is... yall act like being 2-0 meant we were going to the finals. naive af. again. proly played best 3 games the rangers have played in YEARS. it felt great. i admit that. but this team has had a time maintaining high level, playing at its best, all year.
I had a wicked migraine last night and didn't watch the game. It's 2-2 now and we'll be fine. This year's Rangers don't really kick in until they are under heavy pressure. Nasty cold today. Going to double test for Covid later on. Total disaster if I am positive right now because my sister is getting married this weekend and I am supposed to be transportation for 4 people.
me n my wife got it 3 weeks ago. this wave, for 1st time, we both know several people and neiighbots who had it. good luck. as far as 'we're fine" we'll see i have no clue whats to come
I'm sorry, but unlike you, I don't subscribe to the @bicketybam line of thinking (Everyone in the Rangers organization in without flaw). If a player plays poorly, I will call him out on it. If a coach does something that doesn't make sense, I will call him out on it. Your defense is absolutely ridiculous. Just because I am not the Head Coach of the team, that makes my opinion worthless? Well guess what, you just invalidated your own opinion because you aren't the head coach either.
Again, I explicitly said "I will be the first to admit that I am not an NHL coach and will never understand the game of hockey like the coaches do." We're having a discussion on a discussion board. What I can see is that the Rangers struggled to maintain possession of the puck and their best puck possession line played around 11 minutes. How does that make any sense? It makes sense that Lafreniere is getting almost the same amount of ice time as Frank Vatrano and Kevin Rooney? They need to get their best players on the ice.
I mean, its not like you are calling for the coach to be fired. These are legitimate questions, and you are no less a fan for asking them.
Nothing wrong with criticizing players when you don’t like what you’re seeing on TV. Repeatedly, persistently calling for summary executions is just trolling. And you’ve been doing it for years across multiple sports.
am not saying anyone here is LESS OF A FAN, or that you can never question a decision. Gallant has done a good job this year. we're not playing a lesser team, we're playing a more rested SC champs.
And I’m doing this now by agreeing with a detailed, well expressed post by @NYJFOREVER , who by the way, actually took time and effort to provide statistics to support his argument?
Again, I am not suggesting for a second the dismissal of a Jack Adams award nominee. All I am saying os that @NYJFOREVER made a good post, and asked a fair question.
oversimplification =more ice time for the kid line would have changed the results ny4ever thinks Tampa was dead at 0-2. its naive.
I don't think this is necessarily true. However, it is puzzling to say the least that the kid line would get so LITTLE time when they were receiving essentially universal praise from anyone associated with the sport for a full week.
LOL. He makes one post Friday after a huge win about IF WE COULD BEAT COLORADO and that's him proclaiming Tampa was dead? Too funny. I've texted back and forth with him every game since G1, R1 and he's consistently saying to reign it back and focus what is in front of you. So about the elephant in the room...
