Funny that you mention that. I said to myself, man Brad is such a darksider for the Jets but with the Rangers he’s a full blown Kool-Aid drinker. It’s really funny.

I've been very optimistic about the Jets at times. Ten years of lousy football will beat the optimism out of any fan. :)

The thing about these Rangers is that most of the events of the season have augured well and they have done so from early in the season.

We forget that the Rangers got out to 6-2-2 and went to 17-4-3 from there. This with Zibanejad not online yet. They had a little adversity after that, with Shesterkin missing a couple of weeks, but got out to 31-13-4 anyway. They had little bumps in the road all season, including losing 3 out of the last 4 of the regular season but they bounced back each time and never had a major losing streak.

And they're so young. It's like we got the chance to watch them grow up this season. Even the mid-career stars, Zibanejad and Kreider, took major steps forward as everybody else was learning their role.

Then you add in how many people play the role that is needed from them and play it close to perfectly. I started to write a detailed list of the guys who are playing championship hockey for the Rangers and I realized I'd have to write each of them up because they are all at maximum effort right now. These roles have been evolving all year with each of them rotating in and out as the stars of the game. Now in the playoffs they're all stepping up.

So I wouldn't call myself an optimist as much as a realistic observer of a team gelling towards it's moment. If events are any indication that could be a very long moment indeed.

One championship in 82 years springs eternal optimism.

If he puts his glove over the puck or closes his fingers on it then the Rangers get a penalty shot. If he passes it with his hand or glove to another teammate *outside* the crease then the play is blown dead and there is a face-off in the defensive zone. If he passes it to the goalie and the goalie covers then there is a face-off in the defensive zone.

    Folks,

Who do we want in the other series?

I see Colorado up 2-0 against Edmonton but tonight is Edmonton home game. Who do we want if Rangers advance?

We want Edmonton for home ice. I think we match up really well against either of them though. Clear advantage in goal and our skaters are playing as well as any in the NHL the last couple of weeks.

Rangers are 6-1 in the last 7 and outscored the opposition 28-13 over that span.

    Brad

Did Rangers play against each team during regular season? If so, what is Rangers' record against these 2?

Good start, I was expecting a Tampa onslaught to start the game but Rangers has been good.

I swear, every now and then he does something that makes me wonder how he ever won a Norris Trophy.
