Saw that a lot in Vegas with GG, his teams play fast and sometimes free flowing but sometimes you could see how chaotic and unorganized his system could be. He was totally outcoached by Trotz in that final and once Washington got going there was no looking back.
Gerard Gallant rips Rangers effort after another slow start (audacy.com) “We want to win games,” Gallant said. “I'm pissed off tonight because we got one point. We want to win hockey games. That's what we're here for. We clinched a week ago, and it seems like we clinched and the season’s over. That’s not the way it’s supposed to work. You’re supposed to compete and try to play hard every night and do the best you can. I didn’t like the way we played tonight at all.”
My kids surprised me with tickets to the game yesterday at the Cap One Arena(we were in DC for the weekend). Nice win and there were a lot of Rangers fans present.
The next week doesn't matter. Trouba will be back in time for the playoffs. Him and Miller are the key to a long playoff run. They, as a pair, have been great since Miller returned from suspension. Lindgren/Fox and Miller/Trouba is plenty good enough to win a Cup. Schneider and Mikkola are a fine 3rd pair for the 8-10 minutes they're going to play per night. The defensive issues on this team stem from forwards that don't play defense.
Is it really that big a loss considering neither of them have any business on an NHL roster in the first place?
Understood. I'm gonna have to start using emojis. Say what you will about Ben Harpur as a player, the dude can kick some serious ass in a fight.
Harpur is a fine 7th defenseman. When he is on the ice for extended periods of time, it gets kinda ugly. Last night was his best game as a NYR.
Can this be right? The Rangers have the second best goal differential in the NHL with +57. The Bruins are first with +120. Why are we even watching?
It is right. The Bruins are going to be very, very tough to beat. If they matchup with the Islanders round one, and the Leafs round 2, they could be shot by the time we potentially see them in the ECF.
