1 down. lots of momentum shifts, gotta survive through them, that timeout was the turning point and the rangers had the gas pedal cranked down for about 15-20 straight minutes in the 2nd and start of the 3rd.
you're so annoying lol Dubinsky sans turnover and completely missing the net didnt play bad. Neither did AA. AA was great tonight.
AA was completely flying. Dude looked like a completely different guy. Stephan still looks like he's fighting it a bit. Callahan was a beast as usual. The real Captain of New York. Plays actual defense.
AA was flying around doing absolutely nothing guys. Hes been flying around doing nothing since October
I was in the city for the auto show anyway, lingered around, and ended up scalping my way into section 120. Great game. The Henrik Lundqvist Conn Smythe March is officially underway.
out of curiosity how much did that set you back? Been considering going to the Garden and waiting for the puck to drop to see if any of the scalpers panic and cut the price.
I got pretty good seats. The face value markup in the playoffs is highway robbery. Dolan made a mint tonight. The 400's are 84 and 94. Face was 156 per, he started off at 200, he gave em for 160 after I started walking. It was about 6:40, I'm sure the guy was just making sure to get rid of them, but I didn't miss puck drop, so I consider it a solid victory, especially considering the quality of the game. It's always a gamble though, they looked good, but I was still crossing my fingers when the attendant scanned them
Rangers did a good job of neutralising our strengths. The series was and is in their hands; let the Sens play run and gun and we will give them a game, but the Rangers did it just right. They committed to the forecheck and they clogged centre ice, they took out Spezza and invited our wingers to try and play on the boards. In the first period our young players were clearly overawed by the occasion and Callahan was awesome, we just had no answer for his dominance; we gave it a go in the second but we aren't capable just yet of adapting our game to beat a team as good as the Rangers unless we get to play the game our way. Next game will be interesting. Our kids will be less shellshocked because they'll know what to expect, but Spezza needs to find ways to get open and we need to get back to basics - finish checks, protect the puck, stop trying to make the highlight reels. Away games are free. We only need to win one of them. Scoring twice in the third will at least give us a bit of confidence that we can score on the Rangers. Also, someone needs to take Boyle's head off early in the next game, and hard - I've no problem with putting Carkner or Konopka out there with the remit to really punish him regardless of consequences. I cannot believe the liberty he took with Karlsson in the first period without getting retribution; Neil should have gone onto the ice as Boyle left the box and destroyed him. If we're to stand a chance in this series a message needs to be sent in the next game that you don't get to take cheap shots like that and get away with it; the zebras should have dealt with it, but as they didn't, we should. No complaints about the result, if anything the scoreline flatters the Senators slightly. We're playing with house money, but I still think we can contend in this series.
