Krieder was outstanding (again) in the playoffs. he should have the priority of resigning over Yandle IMHO.
Boyle didn't curse out Pat Leonard. He cursed out Larry Brooks, got in a heated verbal exchange with him, and mentioned Brett Cyrgalis who is the other New York Post writer who covers the Rangers during the discussion with Boyle. Cyrgalis wasn't there though. I thought Boyle deserved a lot of criticism, but some of our beat reporters are terrible, and should be called out for it. Whoever is the Rangers doctor should be fired. Letting a concussed Girardi play in game 1 is a fireable offense. It hurt the team with his terrible play, but more importantly its neurological negligence to let someone with concussion symptoms play a full contact professional sport. Yandle's answers make me think he'll go to wherever the money is. I agree with Poeman about Buchnevich, but it doesn't help pump the tires when Brass is mentioning him today as someone who will help the team. I don't think you can operate under the assumption that Buchnevich will fill any role. For all we know he might not be ready for the NHL. If he helps, thats a bonus.
The way it was initially reported I envisioned a Ryan Leaf like explosion, Boyle was actually pretty calm and just asked him to leave. Good for Boyle, some of the writers are tabloid hacks, stir up controversy where there is nothing. I actually stopped reading the papers because of the extreme story telling in their articles. Lupica was the last guy I could actually read before I stopped altogether.
Way to go Boyle. Leaving with class. Fucking crybaby. Larry Brooks might be (might be) a little bit of a hack, but cmon. 39 yr old veteran acting like Ryan Leaf during his rookie year.
Hey Matt, what's the word from the locker room on what Boyle's "serious" family issues are that he had to deal with this season?
The family all pushed Boyle to retire during the season as his play was causing blindness to some members...Something like that I am sure.
Boyle is a product of the Ultra-gentle San Jose press who wouldn't dare say a word against the only professional franchise in city limits. Larry Brooks just doesn't give a shit.
