Not a hockey fan. But rooting for Rangers and Islanders since they are New York Metro Area teams. Pretty pumped. We are up 3-1 against Penguins. I hope we crush them. Go Rangers.
I think the same thing it seems that the Pens can't resist the temptation of braking up the lines that work and putting Crosby and Malking together which throws off the balance on the rest of the line. Love it. Oh and by the way, it seems tha Eddie O, is just making stuff up when it comes to the offsides challenge.
I don't think we played better than in Game 1. I think the difference was the goalies. Hank played like the best goalie in the NHL, and Zatkoff played like a back up goalie. Raanta's not a bad back up goalie, but in the playoffs, we need Hank in goal and playing at his best if we are going to have a good chance to win a series like this.
Honestly, we looked bad in the 1st period... slow and just missing everything ...that 2nd period was a different team
Great Rangers win. Nice having Lundqvist back and looking strong. As for the Penguins, I have said it the last five years: they always play better when Sid or Malkin is out of the line-up. So odd. When both play they seem to cancel each other out. Haha crazy. Time for you Rangers fans at MSG to continue with the Rangers momentum!
If the Rangers keep out hitting them, they will win this series, Crosby can't pass the puck fast enough to avoid getting hit, even if it's a turnover in the offensive zone. Malkin hits back so he won't be intimidated, Kessel plays no defense so there is no concern about him back checking. My favorite part of yesterday's game, Pierre had nothing to say after the Rangers took the quick 2-1 lead.
As a Devs fan I would love to see Shero target Malkin this offseason. Jersey can take on his contract but I highly doubt if they ever moved him it would be within the division. In a Rangers/Pens trade scenario , I think that extra would have to be Zuc or JT Miller to snag Malkin for Nash though. The skill level between those guys isnt comparable anymore IMO.
Haha yeah, good trade ideas by you both, but no way the Penguins would do that. I don't even think you can trade Malkin to an Eastern team period. Have to send him out West. And I think the Penguins will. Especially going 14-2 without him to end the season and instantly losing when he returned. If the Rangers win the series I think that would seal the deal.
from the "whole body" link: New York Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi was basically atrocious in their Game 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. He had a minus-13 Corsi for the game, and a 5-on-5 Corsi percentage of 46.15, the lowest for any Rangers player not named Tanner Glass. He was a minus-2 in 17:17 of ice time. Bad playoff performances and Dan Girardi are really nothing new, but on Friday coach Alain Vingeault revealed that his defenseman is actually ailing. Girardi will miss Game 2 of the series on Saturday; when asked if it was a lower or upper-body injury, Vigneault smiled and said "it's the whole thing." The Rangers will be without Girardi and Ryan McDonagh for Game 2. Dylan McIlrath will draw in to likely play with Keith Yandle, while Marc Staal’s new partner is Kevin Klein. Brady Skjei and Dan Boyle make up the other pairing. So, in summary, perhaps addition by subtraction?
not getting too high or too low over anything here, too much series left to be spraying my shorts just yet. anyone catch Yandle giving Malkin the business? That made me smile. To quote Arnold, Malkin is one ugly motherfucker.
