OK, I knew the boy was lucky, but this is ridiculous. We get to the game, and settle down in our seats.... Next thing, my season ticket agent comes to my section to inform me that we won a free seat upgrade!!!! TEN ROWS behind the redline!!! You can see Pierre McGuire in front of us! And most importantly, the boy is 5-0 now!
Henrik Lundqvist playeed in his 100th career playoff game. 17th goalie to hit milestone. 15 have won Cup.
Tampa is just a mess right now. Yesterday Cooper says his team played great, today he says he watched the tape and the performance made him want to vomit. Boyle is hurt which kills their bottom six balance, Callahan is playing hurt and stinks in the playoffs anyway, and anytime there's a microphone in front of Stralman he talks about how much he wanted to come back to the Rangers. The Rangers depth exposed issues on both sides of their team, and they just don't seem sure which style of play to commit to. They really need to even the series tomorrow night or they just might fall apart at the seams and struggle just to win one at home. They're incredibly talented and I still think in the back of my mind they're the team to beat in the East, but they sure are looking mentally weak after just one mediocre game.
Bottom line is the Lightning look like unicorns and rainbows compared to the Caps. The Capitals CRUSHED the Rangers system and made it very very painful to get anything going. It was as hard a challenge as you can imagine, so now with Tampa it's a free-for-all. Rangers can skate wherever they want, do whatever they want, and the only reason they didn't blow out game 1 is the same old problem they can't hit the fucking net and always try to be too cute with the passes. Cut that shit out and this is going to be a 4 or 5 game series. And let's not forget Bishop isn't as good as Holtby. Caps are the best thing that could have happened to the Rangers, it's like training for 2 weeks straight with lead weights and then being unleashed
Still very early, but the Tampa team definitely does not play the same way as the Caps do. However, they seem to get going if you make them comfortable. It's like the Rangers need to play their usual game that got them here but also play that bruising hockey. Montreal was no New York in terms of poise and skill and I think the Lightning know that
Guys... its one game... There is no way I am going to believe for a second that this will be an easy series by winning one game against a goaltender who was 8-0 against us prior to the series. let's calm down here. We have A LOT of work to do.
Dude I'm more concerned about if we're playing Chicago or Anaheim. Really don't feel like seeing another Stanley Cup Finals against a team with no fansbase except for 5 guys who got transfered from out east and the people who got lost on the way to Disneyland
Wrong, and besides, why are they supposed to? Because you want it that way? They're the Broadway Blueshirts. 1951 Steve Kraftcheck in a New York Rangers away jersey. (Image found on Game Worn Auctions) 1951 The Rangers add an away jersey that is similar to the home version aside from white being the base color of the jersey. This meant that the letters of the jersey were blue with a red shadow behind them. One of the new features on the jersey was a neck yoke striping pattern. the information that I was able to gather came from nhluniforms.com ______________________________________________________________________ 1926-1927 1926 Rangers (NYR) The Rangers first season they sported a navy blue jersey with the team name “Rangers” displayed diagonally from the shoulder to the hip. On the arm, were three bands, which were white on either side of red. This pattern was repeated at the bottom of the jersey.
Solid response, also I think it comes from all that 90's nostalgia. Remember guys, lets all move on from the amazing 1994 run they had over 20 years ago. It's special but not every season is fucking reminiscent of that one. Let's go out there and take care of business and we'll do it as Broadway Blueshirts
We are the Better Team and Let's Show Them That... Time to get a stranglehold on this series...defend the home ice...
I love how they have Tanner Glass on Ryan Callahan. It's almost like they told him: "OK, Tanner, your sole job is that whenever you see Callahan, HIT HIM!"
Erik Erlendsson@erlendssonTBO Team is indicating Boyle will not be available to speak to the media and his equipment bag was pulled from his stall, likely to be packed
While I agree that playing the Caps and coming out victorious was a great thing for the team, I can't agree that Tampa is going to be a cakewalk. Yes, the Caps system was perfect for shutting down our game, which is why it was a very frustrating 7 game series. However, I think we just caught Tampa off guard in game 1, and we STILL only won by a goal. I think they're going to turn it up from today on, and with our track record of home game 2s, we will see what happens tonight. I am a bit optimistic, though, since we can now play to our strengths without being shut down as much as we were last series.
