ok so that sucked lol - I hate playoff hockey I swear a couple of times in OT I thought it was over, I'm just staring at the back of the net behind Hanky waiting to see the puck and it never got there. And then Stepan whips in the rebound and BLAM!!! Holy shit what a ride, and we're not even fucking half way over Tampa is 5-0 against the Rangers this year, probably our hardest matchup out of the 29 teams. But I think what saves the Rangers here is not having to play the Caps anymore. That defensive system was kryptonite to the Rangers offense. Tampa should seem like a cakewalk to get the offense into gear because they can try to emulate all they want what Washington did but they don't have the personel for it. This series is a toss-up, but the Rangers ALWAYS FIND A FUCKING WAY TO WIN so it's gonna be NYR in 7
If there is one thing for you guys to take out of this series, Holtby is starting to show signs of being one of the premier goalies in the NHL, up there with Lundqvist, Price, Rask, etc. I think he's capable of leading you guys far in the playoffs. Just like its known that Hank is the real captain of our team, I think we are starting to see that Holtby is the real captain of your team. Thats not a knock on Ovi at all. He's the best player in the game right now, but he can't do it all himself. He now has a super star goalie to help him out, and that should bode well for you guys in the future. I think you guys are just a little short on forward depth. Not far off though. Great goalie, very good defense, star offensive player. You guys are getting there.
If there's one thing to take out it's that you can't win blocking shots, the lack of offense eventually catches up to you. Ask Tortorella how that's working for him Fuck the Caps, clutching & grabbing and taking one headshot after another taking advantage of the refs whistle swallowing party. 100% deserved to lose, thanks for the guarantee chicken oven
Holtby's come of age - he's moving up there with the best of 'em. Young kid who will only get better. The frustration and agony of watching the Rangers during those two extended stretches in OT unable to get the puck out of their own zone...... it was like looking at a sloww, inevitable death....
Tampa owned us this season, 3-0 completely dominated. But that was early in the season before AV figured out the lines and Talbot/Hank got into gear. The problem is that the lines are a mess again because Zucc is out and MSL has nothing left in the tank. Marty got benched last night but against Tampa I think AV goes back to him and that's just going to keep dragging Nash down, but I think it'll be a short leash since if he can't perform against his old team he's not going to perform ever. 3 things in our favor, (1) NYI opened 3-0 but we figured them out and ended 3-2 and we'll figure out Tampa too. (2) After facing Holtby for 7 games Bishop is going to look like a piece of swiss cheese, and (3) after getting choked by the Caps defense the Tampa D is going to look like a bunch of straw dummies
Haven't played Bolts since December, regular season games don't mean dick, Hank best goalie left and at the top of his game, Rangers are better now, but Bolts are very good
TDK, great series you should be proud of the Caps, very impressed with Holtby especially after the winning goal and the conversation with Hank, very calm, controlled, very mature...you have a great goalie and a very good coach...just think you need 1 more scorer and to get a little younger on defense (Orpik, Gleason)

MSL and Hagelin have no chance against a team as physical as the Caps. Im hoping they add a lot more in this series. I hitnk we will win this series-the Caos were our big scare. Tampa is young and inexperienced especially in net which is huge. NYR in 5
yes he is. But hes young and has been shaky the last few games in the Hab series. Holtby is better than Bishop and Bishop has never been here before
