Different team, different era, Shadetree it's funny when I rewatch those games they could have called interference about a 100 times a game...Hank, Cally and a bunch of the rest deserve a Cup...

Up until this year I would have agreed but this team is young and strong, can play nasty, and is built for the long haul, not just this year...I have to give Sather credit...

    Fuck Sather.
Lindros, Holik, Gomez, Malik, etc. Ten years to build a team?

    Hugh Jessman!

We he drafts someone who can put the puck in the net let me know. So he has proven that he can draft scrappy lunch pail guys and solid young D men. 10 years of drafting not one pure scorer? There were high picks in there as well.

Torts is the reason they are having success. These hard working though, scoring challenged players fit his system to a tee.

Yes, damn that man for scoring excellent D men with our 05, 07, 08 first rounders and finding Dan Girardi under a rock somewhere in Ontario. And they were middle-round picks, we didn't tank it for years at a time like Washington and Pittsburgh did to get their multiple top picks.

He was garbage for a decade, but we finally gave in and started doing it right.

We will have the money for Parise in the offseason, should we choose to spend it. Drury and Wolski off the books alone frees up 6.5M. The young D men are locked up or at least RFA status for the next 2 years minimum.

By then, Gaborik's contract will be up to spend on the D-Men's extensions.

Dubie's overpaid, but I think he bounces back next year.

They're pretty cap-healthy right now, it's a new and unusual thing.

Yeah I was at a lot of playoff games that year, Game 1 and Game 4 of the Islander series to see the sweep in the Coliseum, that was awesome... a game or 2 against the Caps ....but then my luck sucked as I was at all losses to the Devs and Canucks (including Game 5 of the finals when they had their first shot to wrap the series. I remember the Essa Tikkaenin(sp?) goal that got called back for a questionable offsides).

but that was an awesome run,....they would top it this year though if it were to happen becasue it's certainly not as expected as it was in 94 when they were clearly the best team all season.

they have won 5 of 6, nd tonight they will beat the canadiens who are in disarray at the moment. they should go after these 2 points like there's no tomorrow, as the schedule is very tough from here on out after tonight.

2-0 rangers after 2.the last 7 or 8 minutes of the 2nd, the canadiens took over play, i was glad to get out with the 2 goal lead after that period. 20 more minutes and they get to wipe away another illusion, hang on and keep the pedal down boys!!
Gabby and Richards scored, nice to see your big guns come through.
Henrik is sharp so far, he is on.
    4-3 Pens after two.

yee haa motherfuckers!! shame Henrik lost the shutout there in the last 2 minutes,
but at the same time, what a great thing to be complaining about right?
double del zotto goals in the 3rd.
    107 points and counting.
i hope Hagelin didn't fuck his wrist up, it looked like he was holding it after a wipeout at mid ice on the bench after it.
    what a team!!!

I don't agree with Tort's moves at all but man, he seems to be making the right set of them.

    LETS GO RANGERS.

The magic number is 3. Either points the rangers gain or the penguins fail to get. I think they are pretty safe at this point.

I think NYR match up better vs Washington than Buffalo. Although I think NYR wins a best of 7 against both.

Caps dont have goaltending for shit, also the Caps seem to fold in the postseason. I remember saying last year the only team with less confidence entering the playoffs than the Caps was the Rangers. Caps won the first round, lost in the second
