That arena is such a dump that when it comes time for demolition, all they are going to need is the big bad wolf to come and blow it down. While the majority of the blame does lay on the ownership, let us not excuse the fans who basically abandoned this team for 15 years. If the stands weren't a literal ghost town for all that time, they would not be moving. Still, you have to give the Nassau Coliseum credit for being a tremendous home-ice advantage. Opposing players never knew when they could be crushed by a piece of falling rafters from the ceiling.
We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!! Haha miss us? 5th series since 2009. Caps won 2009 and 2011, Rangers 2012 and 2013. Both are actually better teams now than they were in any of those series. It will be tough for the Caps to win the series, but I think they will give the Rangers a good fight. Can't wait, guys!
I didn't see Caesar perform in Rome either, and that Coliseum is in better shape than the one in Nassau!
They're not tearing it down, the county has a contract with Ratner to gut renovate it for concerts and ice capades. The seating capacity is going to get cut way down. Some people were talking today about possibly getting an AHL team in there. So essentially given that level of play and lower attendance it would be like the Islanders never left
fuck ovi and the caps i hope they obliterate them forever. im not looking past the caps, but im certainly not remotely spooked at all.
Rangers aren't getting by the Caps playing like they did against the Penguins that, I'm sure of. Holtby looks spent though. That goal he gave up last night on 11 shots was weak. real weak. think they overused him. I hate playing the Caps, at this point it's boring....but the potential of losing to the Islanders was much more horrific for me.
I wouldn't bet the ranch on it. It is however much prettier. Both hosted lots of Guidos in their day. Nassau Coliseum - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Flavian Amphitheater (The Colosseum)
Tcrock, i want the rangers to play better too, but be it in 4 , 5, 6, or 7 games, the caps are not advancing my good man! i promise.
Guys... Rangers Game 1 and the NFL Draft are happening at the same time Thursday...What the fuck do we do?
I have a worry the Rangers will quickly be up 2-0 in the series. The Caps are drained from the Isles series, so I expect a flat Game 1 and then Saturday's game is an early start, which the Caps have sucked at this season. Hope I am wrong though.
