Man, gutty win. A lot to be happy about in those last 3-4 minutes with the suffocating forecheck, but a tough win. Something still feels off with them. Gotta get that mid-year mojo back before the playoffs.
tough win, but the rangers got hosed on an early whistle, hit a couple of posts too, i thought they were o.k. tonight, but yes they have to turn it up to go far into the playoffs, especially in this league.
You said it Tommy, thanks Isles...gave us the blueprint on how to beat Pens, pound them, they are soft...
See that dude..... So, its been very obvious that the Rangers have been wayyy less physical the last 4 or 5 games. Which IM happy about to save some wear and tear since we're still winning. You think Torts told them to ease up a bit until the playoffs or do you think everyone is just beat and we should be nervous whether or not we can regain our physicality come playoff time
It's hard to tell. On one hand, no matter how discipline and well conditioned a team is, there's no way a team can sustain that kind of play for a full season plus two months extended for a playoff run. On the other, I'm not sure it's something you can flip a switch on. I think a commitment to a certain brand of play is just that; staying committed to it. My guess is everyone is kind of beat up. The good news is that obviously every team is going to be kind of beat up by the time the playoffs role around. It's just ironic, even a year when the Rangers have been the class of the league for significant portions of the season, every game until season's end is going to be meaningful, just like all the other years. Albeit for much different reasons.
The value of home ice can't be emphasized enough against teams like Pitt, Boston, Philly, and NJ this year. I'd much rather see Buffalo than Washington, too. The Caps still have enough talent to flip the switch and pull a New York Giants.
Yeah, I agree. And the Rangers just match up well with the Sabres. Only wild card is Miller is far outplaying Lundqvist right now.
Ryan Mcdonaugh is a boss...and a future US olympian blue liner and all star. Dude is so class on the ice....Torts was praising him like he's praised no other this year. Well him and Girardi
The more I think about, the more I wonder why I root for these dicks!!! J/K, I dont hate Stepan at all. I like him a lot. I was just referring to the convo a couple weeks ago about who was the better prospect and who had the higher celing between Stepan and McD.....its not even close
Somewhere along the line we have to regain our identity and Hank's confidence, I really think we need to carry the play more and force the play more...little annoying injuries knocked us off our best game...
