I loved Eddie Giacomin, but I believe Hank is the best...

Oh I agree whole-heartedly. Im just sayin theres alot more skaters than goalies in our history ( hahaha obviously) so it would take more of a body of work before we can call cally one of our best ever. Although, hes well, well on his way.

I would have man sex with Cally any day of the week

Cally is very comparable to Graves outside of his monster season in '94. All-heart kind of player, fan favorite, kind of the common man's kind of guy. He definitely exemplifies the current Ranger identity more than anyone on the ice.

Hank's legacy is really going to be determined within the next couple years. He's been pretty consistently among the elite goaltenders in the league for a while but never had a support system to get very far in the playoffs. Now that the team has taken shape/is taking shape for a strong run in the coming years, it's up to Hank to play as well as he has in the regular season. That will cement where he ranks. If they come up way short over the next few years, he risks the possibility of being labeled the solid goaltender that could never win the big one

At 30, after all these consistently excellent seasons he's done enough in my eye to be considered the best, I would put Richter behind Giacomin too...

You're right Graves is an accurate comparison for Cally...

it's amazing how even the records show the pens and rangers to be.
outside of regulation and overtime wins which the rangers have more of in comparison, the rest of the numbers are eerily close. the most regulation and overtime wins come into play very much don't they, if they both ended up with the same amount of points after the head to head season records, i think that's the next category they seed on right? check it out-

St Louis is lethal at home, 29-4-4. Right now there's alot of team in the west playing well. The kings, Avs and Hawks, the 6,7, and 8 teams are all slugging it out right now and playing great.
the east travels so much lighter than the west does, that has got to take some kind of toll on the west teams come playoff time. 9 more games, and the most exciting sports playoffs you can watch out of every sport begins!! i watch them all, both conferences playoff rounds. edge of your seat action and for a long amount of time, like two months worth of playoffs. Tits i tell you, fucking love the NHL playoffs.

The Blues can grind it out physically with any other team. They are tough and skilled.

the one problem with the Cally-Graves comparison is Cally is wayyy faster than Graves.

Haha aright man, I was going for a very general comparison. In terms of their style and leadership I'd say they're in the same ballpark, not necessarily sharing the same attributes top to bottom

well, buffalo was playing for their playoff lives, i had a bad feeling about this game from this morning. Would have been nice to have picked up a point at least. on to the next, Toronto tomorrow night in Toronto. at least the leafs had to play today too against the devils. They're all must wins, but i really want those 2 points tomorrow night more than ever now after tonight's loss.
