So Buchnevich, Miller, Zuccarello, Lindberg and a 2nd rounder for Staal. I think Carolina does that

Take out Zuccarello and Lindberg from that trade. Makes it more balanced for both sides.

Buch, Miller, and a 2nd? You think Carolina does that?

It would be nice because size will be a problem in the playoffs. Thank god we avoided Columbus and Boston last year

    Imagine this

    Kreider-Stepan-Nash
    Hagelin-Staal-St. Louis
    Duclair-Brassard-Zuccarello
    Fast-Moore-Stempniak

That group of forwards would be as good as any team in the league.

I would switch Stepan and Staal but that would be a cup team imo. That team has size, speed, scoring, and defense. Brassard on the 3rd line again causes matchup problems for other teams and i like Duclair with Brassard and Zucc

Then swap the first and second line. I like those players playing together.

Thinking about Staal on this team makes me excited. I am really hoping we make a move for him. Screw the deadline, find out what Carolina is doing and do it now

I didn't really consider the cap situation. Something would have to be done about that for us to get Staal. Thinking about a trade more reasonably, including Zuccarello would be a good idea. So make it Zuccarello, Miller and a 2nd. We'd also have to offload Kevin Klein and cut Glass. At that point the Rangers might be able to fit Staal onto the team.

So a revised version of the lineup would look like this.

    Kreider-Stepan-Nash
    Hagelin-Staal-St. Louis
    Duclair-Brassard-Stempniak
    Malone-Moore-Fast

    McDonagh-Girardi
    Staal-Boyle
    Moore-McIlrath

Trade Klein to replace the pick or picks we give up for Staal. Cut or trade Glass for a late pick and just give McIlrath a shot or keep Hunwick in for the 3rd pairing. Just worried about John Moore not being with a veteran

Terrible game from Hank. Let up 6 goals. Can't win games when your goalie is letting in six. Nash and Stempniak scored again. Duclair was very good once again. Nice shot from Brassard on his goal. Talbot was good in relief of Hank. Good bounce back game from him after the poor performance against Columbus. Everyone else was bad. I'd sit Glass on Tuesday and replace him with Malone.

The Rags don't have the cap space or the young talent to get Staal. Pipe dream.

good day All!! hope everyone had as great a summer as I did! In fact, it's still summer for me! haa haa!
this Duclair kid has some moves, I like him. im not gonna go kooky yet about anything, it's just too early.
Hank is certainly not Mr. October is he? Hope this isn't another "holy shit they're playing at home" kind of year like last year.
they were great road dogs, but home ice has to be established for godsakes don't ya think?

I put most of those goals on the D and on bad bounces. Honestly I didn't think it was pull the goalie worthy. Defense sucked big ones, Rangers are thin and getting thinner on D. Time to make some trades

Yeah but there were some crazy bounces and some really bad defensive plays. It is good to see Nash scoring at this pace but he is the only one scoring. I'm praying to see St.Louis at RW sooner than later too

Defense was horrid and right now the team is a mess. It was only game 3 but they need to get going. Islanders will be a tough game

They can find a way to fit him. If Staal is out there, i expect Sather to at least make a call about him
