McIlrath is ready to be the 7th defenseman. Its just now a question of whether the Rangers want him to spend most games not in the lineup with the NHL team or playing with the AHL team. I say let him stay with the NHL team as the 7th defender. I'm sure he'll get some games at some point during the season and he needs to get used to playing in the NHL. I think he'll replace Klein as the #3RHD when the season is over.
Did you see the guy that they had fight Glass last night? How does that guy have a job as a hockey player? I get that the Flyers are in love with Goons, but that guy has absolutely no hockey skill at all. He takes the meaning of goon to a whole new level. To think that a guy like that makes 600k per year because he can punch people is ridiculous.
The Rangers' roster for Tuesday centers Dom Moore, Chris Mueller, Oscar Lindberg and Kevin Hayes. The other forwards are Carl Hagelin, Danny Kristo, Ryan Bourque, Anthony Duclair, Ryan Haggerty, Marek Hrivik, Lee Stempniak and Nick Tarnasky. On defense, the Rangers will use Kevin Klein, John Moore, Conor Allen, Mat Bodie, Mike Kostka and Matt Hunwick. Cam Talbot is expected to play the entire game in goal. Jason Missiaen will back up again.
What a clown. This rent-a-goon played 4 seasons with Edmonton and scored a total of 14 goals, which averages out to 2.8 goals per year. Not 28 but 2.8 - lol. He then played one (scoreless) game for Nashville registering 7 penalty minutes. Who wants to guess 2 for roughing, 5 for fighting? What a clown.
"Now coaching for YOUR Charleston Chiefs: Craig Berube!" : ) Lol, the Flyers now have a goon as their coach. Not a goon? Berube spent 17 years in the league and scored a grand total of 61 goals or an average of 3.58 goals per season. When he wasn't "lighting the lamp" he accumulated 3,149 penalty minutes which averaged out to 185.23 penalty minutes per season. Playing with numbers, 3,149 penalty minutes translates to 630 fighting majors. Gooon-lol. Berube will probably put some "Dave Hoyda was my idol growing up" dbag out on the ice tonight.
Pat Leonard@PLeonardNYDN · 2 hrs2 hours ago AV on Duclair: “Ongoing process. He might start with us. He might go back to junior. After 5, 6 gms, we might say we're gonna keep him ..."
Andrew Gross@AGrossRecord · 17 mins17 minutes ago Duclair again the story. AV praises his play. Says he's definitely opened eyes in organization.
It just doesn't make any sense why any GM would even bring this guy into training camp. Why would you even waste your time giving AHL minutes to someone like that? Those are precious AHL minutes that you won't get back.
The Duke has been beyond phenomenal. He's making it impossible to send him down without at least giving him a cup of coffee. Kreider-Brass-Zucc Duclair-Miller-Nash (heavy o-zone starts) Hagelin-Moore-MSL Glass-Hayes/Lindberg-Stempniak With Step back: Duclair-Stepan-Nash Kreider-Brass-Zucc Hagelin-Miller-MSL Glass-Moore-Stemp More than likely, though, we let Fast play over him due to defensive and PKing ability. I really really really wish Duke was AHL eligible.
'cept when you're Dave Schultz and have noted 'goon' Dale Rolfe in front of you.........my Flyer hatred has deep roots... lol...
