Love this picture Gordon posted this on the hfboards....focus, he is amazing in elimination games 11-2 1 GAA 963 Svpct his last 13 games
You know, a victory SOMEHOW in L.A. and this stat you posted MR...this stat could become a head game thing with L.A. It could. I mean, that's some stat. It probably means little to the Kings going home now and expecting an easier victory after that 3rd period...but one more win.... Another thing is and this will be A.V. s mantra the next 24 hours with the team..is in the postgame he said "and we will be better at that next game...for sure" at least 5 times. Meaning, the pressure they put on..and A.V. begging the team not to be on their heels and respond to it...lets face it, its a learning experience for many of these guys. Not many cup guys on this team and only one of them is producing compared to 17....17...17 guys for the Kings. I believe if anything, the Rangers will be better next game..is it enough is the question.
Lundqvist's 40 saves are the most by a goaltender in a regulation-time elimination-avoiding victory in a Stanley Cup Final game since the NHL began officially tracking shot totals nearly 60 years ago. Henrik Lundqvist: 8-0, 0.99 GAA, .968 SV% in last 8 elimination games at MSG
skip skoodly fuckin' doo!! stage one of my delusional overblown fantasy has been completed. ticket prices have gone way up out here.
I thought Staal played pretty well last night and is weathering the beating much better than Girardi. The Kings 3rd and 4th lines are hurting us more than the top 2. I don't expect a win Friday, but am damn glad they avoided the sweep. Last night was the first time I saw a team wear the Rangers down........they couldn't even raise their sticks to salute the crowd after the game was up..... Richards..pfft, he ought to be a healthy playoff scratch again.
remember when the ranegrs looked past the canucks when they were up 3-1 in '94? then again, that team was the lead horse and had a lot of cup experience, but they still got pounded in that game 6-3 after tying it up after being down 3-0. I'd say expect a wild and wooly one tomorrow night! kings will be distracted. we hope.
Yeah..I thought Staal was great in the first period but just slowly went down hill. I mean, watched the third period again and had to pause several times to see if the king truly had only 5 skaters. I just don't know how you can gameplan against that kind of pressure. It reminds of teams that sit back on the powerplay and teams that are really aggressive. It just blows me away that teams ever choose to back off and not go after defensemen at the point. The Rangers should start using the floater more..ala the Penguins and the Canadians. Even if the puck skips 1 out of 5 times favorably, its a dangerous play and at some point has to be respected. I know its sounds pee weeish..but I have no other clue how this team can combat their 5 guys under the red line system. They send 3....have 2 defensemen just past the blue line...brutal.
If the rangers win game 5 this series WILL GO 7!!! Hank is 8-0 in elimination games at home.. Let's get this one in la
I think the rangers should go back to stretch passing the hell out of them and going for touchdowns often, the kings aren't letting the rangers in at all, they have adjusted well. don't let the kings set up shop and start assaulting henrik for 30 straight minutes, that reminded me of playing the Capitals pre-2012 ya know? rangers have to retrieve the puck a lot better
Except that there's no one there to take the pass because he just got run into the boards. Best thing the Rangers can do is finish all their checks and save their speed for the third period and attack attack attack. If they fall back on Hank late every game eventually the Kings will put it in the back of the net
Team records on Friday the 13th in past decade: RANGERS 2-1 LOSS Feb 13, 2009 @ Florida (shootout) KINGS 4-2 WIN Apr 13, 2012 @ Vancouver (playoffs) 7-0 LOSS Nov 13, 2009 @ Atlanta 4-2 LOSS Mar 13, 2009 @ Vancouver 8-3 LOSS Feb 13, 2004 @ Buffalo
The Kings get away with more interference than any team I have ever seen, you can't impede someone's progress to the puck, when he doesn't have the puck
Andrew Gross@AGrossRecord · 19m Love it. Darryl Sutter on over-asked "how important is start" ?: "Well, that's why they put time on the clock always, that's when it starts.
