you ever watch the red wings power play? two passes at most and then it's straight to the net with a shot of some kind, and it has served them well.

you can tbe serious. I know youre grabbing at straws here. Youre sighting 4 games and drawing conclusions where as I am looking at 65 games or so that the Pens have played. Why do they scare me? Well they have like the 4th best record in the NHL. And they havent had Crosby all year ( save for a few games) so your insistance thatthis is a crosby-less team makes no sense because they have achieved this great success already without him. And, all signs point to Cindy playing in the playoffs which only makes them scarier.

The good news is that Lundqvist and the team are both slumping at the same time. Both slumps should be over soon, definitely before the playoffs, and they'll all be on the same page going in.

Maybe the Penguins with Crosby will pull a Knicks who suck with Carmelo Anthony. Hey you can always dream

OK. So then let's return to your original point, which was that the Penguins (2-2-0 vs NYR this season) are a great side and the nightmare draw for you, but the Senators (3-1-0 vs NYR this season) who are eight points shy of the Penguins and 2-1-0 against them this season, are a slam dunk bye to the second round?

You're making no sense at all. Either the Penguins aren't as good as you make out, or you're not giving the Sens any of the credit they're due. Personally, I reckon it's both.

I got a good laugh from that schmuck Millbury the other day saying that there's no evidence to suggest that he'll make a seamless transition back to form upon just entering the lineup. Uh, did you happen to watch the eight games this year that he put up 12 points in or were you too busy harrassing kids Millbury?

Not saying he'll be at peak level by any means but his peak level is other worldly, I think he'll contribute just fine when he comes back

hahah dude, you realize youre giving this thread a good laugh right now yes? You've been at that maple whiskey again ( delicious by the way). I'll break it down real easy for you. The Penguins are MILES better than the Sens as are the Rangers. There you go.

And Im not being inconsistent in my argument. I dont care about 4 games the rangers played the Sens and I dont care about 4 games the Pens played the Sens. I am looking at rosters, playoff experience, goaltending etc.

Over the course of th eyear the Pens and NYR will/have proved they are better teams.

Its a long season dude. The Pens seem to peaking now with the possible addition of gayboy coming as well. Are the Sens adding a crosby any time soon? Are the Rangers for that matter? Nope.

You're taking selective evidence to create a straw man argument here, jonny. I haven't said that the Sens are a better side than the Rangers or the Penguins. Your point essentially boils down to "if you ignore the evidence that says that there isn't a huge gap between the teams, there's a huge gap between the teams".

You're making no sense. Or rather, it's very obvious what sense you're making.

you can throw the regular season right out the window, especially in the NHL.
At this moment, the Penguins and Blues are playing the best hockey.
I would take a series with the Sens over the Pens evrytime if given the choice.

So we can throw the regular season right out the window, but we should fear the Penguins because of their regular season record? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense as well.

Fear the Penguins, (the fans, not the players) because they have won 8 in a row and are peaking right now. They have had the Rangers number for years now, the sens are very good team, but i don't feel they are on the same level
as the Penguins, which in turn makes me want to play the Sens if there were a choice. Pitt could very well win the conference still, so a first round meeting won't happen anyway between them and the Rangers, but to speak in regards to who I'd rather face, it's the Sens by farif that were the case.Ask any ranger fan who they would rather face between the two.

That's as may be. I just don't buy that the Pens are that good.

They are that good, that could be due to me always being used to being knocked out by them, going back to '92 when the Rangers lost to them in 6 against the Messier team that did so well that season. Call it a stigma for me as a ranger fan regarding the pens.

That I can accept, as I said earlier:

Boston and Philly are the teams to beat. The Rangers could be the team to do that, but they need to start scoring some goals. I can't see any other team contending for the Conference.

The Rangers will make quick work of Carolina tomorrow night. Not a roll over game, but they will win by 2 or more.
