Boomer's usually right. He answered a lot of questions about the trade, and it sounds like the the player the Rangers are trading for is either MSL or Semin Edit: Its sounding more and more like its MSL.
Semin is a dog. But for Cally, I would roll the dice and see if we can get him to play up to his potential. Even up to 0%. MSL? meh
I wouldn't like the Semin trade, but I don't think it will happen. Its seeming more and more like its MSL. I'd trade Callahan for MSL. MSL is old, but he's still right at about a PPG, and he can probably produce numbers like that for another four or five years. He is also a good friend of Brad Richards and his family lives in Connecticut, so its a good fit for him.
I don't know why anyone wouldn't like MSL other than his age. He's old, but he is still producing at a great rate. He won the scoring title last year.
There can't be any possible way Yzerman is crazy enough to trade MSL for an unsigned Callahan straight up.
You mean the guy who changed his name in Sochi to Syomin, wtf was that...he's a dog, we don't need him, rather see Cally stay but if he goes get somebody who is actually usefull...not MSL, not Stewart and certainly not Semen...
I really don't see a problem here, Cally don't want to take less money to keep a team intact. BETTER players have done this before (Dustin Brown, Joe Pavelski) to keep guys in their respective sweaters. It annoys me when he keeps telling everyone he wants to be in NY, but he won’t take a million less to do so? Captain or no captain he will be hurt at least twice a year and score maybe 35 goals a season. Not worth 7 million. I can see MSL have another 2 maybe 3 GOOD years left in him, hes going to put up 40 goals this season, that's something the Rangers can use now.
I trust Boomer more than the experts. Boomer's sticking by a MSL for Callahan trade, so I will believe him.
EJ Hradek said last night Cally is staying, 50% chance of being right also....I say he may or may not get traded so I'm right....
fells like 4 months since we'veplayed. I am going to be on vacation from Thursday to the 9th of March and prolly wont see a minute of action. Wow
I just don't see any way that Callahan stays if he doesn't lower his demands. I can't find a report that says that Sather is going to keep Girardi and Callahan if they don't sign contract. Every report has said that he wants to get something for both players if they don't sign because he doesn't want to get nothing when these two go into free agency.
Drager tweeted last night that Cally is 99.9% gone and that hes asking 6.75 MM per year and that IS a discount according to the Cally camp. BWAHAHHAHA are they fucking serious? Chris Stewart is coming here fellas.
I can be sold on his being worth 6.75 mil for the next couple years, but not for another 6 or 7 years. For that length the AAV has got to be in the 5-6 mil range
