My cousin is a faithful Oiler fan so I keep some tabs on the team here and there. The biggest problem I can see is that nobody really ever gets fired. They just kind of get recirculated into other positions with the organizations. In the last 10 years, there's been next to no real turnover in the front office. They're a mess from the top down.

The Oilers are pretty much the Canadian Islanders. Short intense run that they've been living off ever since and ignoring the reality that they now permanently suck but refuse to do anything to change

Our owner is buddies with the old guard (Lowe, MacT, Gretzky, Messier, etc). They used to party in the 80s during the dynasty. Lowe basically has contract for life status and the city is pissed. Fans are calling for his head. This team can't draft worth shit, they'll probably fire the HC and draft another small forward. Lmao

Good luck tonight gentlemen, and fuck yourself for the Islander comparison Gecko we lost Gm 7 of the SC finals in 2006

That was like watching a pre-lockout game. Clutch and grab all over the place. Yuck.

If I had to hear one more time Joe Micheletti saying "he didn't miss by much..."

    Frustrating.

Callahan wants 7M and he can't hit a fucking empty net.

    Typical Rangers.

The referees called NOTHING last night, but at least they were consistant. I never seen a game where two teams got away with so many penalties.

Pretty ugly loss. Not to pile on Cally too much because he was giving himself chances, but there was one late in the third that he missed the net by 3+ feet on the far post. Broadcast view was the perfect angle to show how badly he missed. Gotta get that puck on net. Not particularly expecting a win tonight in Pittsburgh but I think they'll come out firing. Good barometer game for them tonight with the Olympic break looming.

Scrivens made a great save on Cally's breakaway

I had to shut the sound off and put the radio on even though its a 7 second delay, Joe, what a great pass by hall, Nugent-Hopkins what a great play, Ferrence...shut the fuck up, the worst are the goal calls they miss every goal because they both can't shut up...

That was brutal. So was the two slashes (one on each leg) that Richards got away with.

It sucks that the refs put the whistle away because we finally have a good PP, but the refs weren't hideous because they put them away for both teams really.

This is a game that could come back and bite us later in the year. Great teams put a team like the Oilers away with ease. It's been our Achilles heel (both the Jets and the Rangers actually) for as long as I can remember. Play up and down to our competition.

I agree Matt, these 2 pts. could come back to haunt us, especially against a team you should beat...if we win tonight, it takes the starch out of it because we expected to get 2 of the next 4 points
