well actually, youre missing a gigantic point. He has no contract after this year and is asking for huge money. MOre than his production is worth. Theres a cap in the NHL that GMs must balance. Its not just a matter of " hey I like that guy, hes gritty, lets keep him"

No hate for the guy. He's one of my favorite players I've ever watched. Total heart and soul of the team. I'd hate to lose the guy but I root for a team, not any individuals. You gotta abstain from the warm and fuzzies of a likeable player for the good of a team. Cally's an injury prone guy that scores in the 50 point range with a ton of heart. Hard to justify a long term, pretty big money deal for a guy like that.

the ice looked like it was from the pond down the road from my house in Douglaston that I grew up playing on. i'll take the two points. 29 wins. not too shabby considering the season as a whole. would be nice to have a few less regulation losses though. what is this Olympic headache break gonna do to the team? hopefully it helps. we'll see. how many games left 4?

i got good tickets yesterday for about half the face price. sat in the terrace section, first row, along first base line. were actually great seats, but i'm still thawing out today. sitting a little higher up i could see everything perfectly.

spent a little time walking down broadway before taking train up to Bronx. saw the Lombardi trophy and the atmosphere was good. but was cold and crowded, w/o really all that much to see. i found a bar quickly instead..

I grew up in fresh meadows, around the corner from Blue Bay diner but had Douglaston friends. My first job was at the mini golf place on Northern

you worked at the miniature golf place? holy smokes. I was from Douglaston manor, there was a pond down the hill from my house that was on the way to the little neck train station on the back road.
MR, I have been to both Patricks and the Harp. Small world.

If Ryan Callahan gets 18M over 4 years, I'll videotape myself eating my own dick.

Man, this is turning into a "Gate D" gathering :-o

Matt (Robinson, not the dick-eating Matt *lol*): what are your instincts telling you regarding Sather & Cally?

Not to be a smart ass but what if, I mean what if Sather dealt him to Nashville? You & johnny: talk about misery loves company...two ball-busting antagonists in the same foxhole--would make for fun reading.

---Just tuned into the Devils-Stars game, Stars just tied it up in the last minute--going to OT. But who cares, the only reason I bring this up is: the Dallas Stars have these e'fin HOT cheerleaders...I never knew this.
