Girardi was less than impressive in this series. Richards was garbage. Nash was invisible. I think I heard Boyle's name announced for the first time this post-season. Some players played well in flashes but that was it. Henrik was the only good player.
The most important thing for the future of this franchise is for Michael Del Zotto to continue to eat minutes. As long as Michael Del Zotto eats minutes, nothing else matters.
Well at least we have the jets to look forward to. Everyone played poorly tonight, like others hank and kreider were about the only players who showed up. I know we still have the same contingent ripping dz....he did suck, but so did everyone else. Mac fucked up the pulled goalie goal. Callys got to bury that break away. Nash disappeared again. Hagelin has to learn some moves or passing skills to accompany the speed. Always has the puck but does nothing with it. Hamrlik, lol. Brassard, Steps? Where was everyone? Anyways Bruins were better, we all know this.
The only thing bothering me is getting beaten by that fucking kroog or whatever the hell his name was. No one even hit the guy, ever. I dont know how its debatable. We outplayed them maybe 2 periods the whole series, that might be generous
The Bruins were certainly a better team. No doubt there. Top to bottom they just had a more cohesive team. No real weak links. Rangers have some decisions to make. We should see just how much management likes Torts. As for moving forward, I can't imagine the Bruins have the team to beat Pitt. They're a grittier team with a better backstop but I think the Pens march to the Cup. As for you guys on here, lots of good Ranger hockey talk the last few months. Glad we had a good little contingent of us on the board. Pleasure was all mine fellas. Enjoy the summer!
Two positives to look towards if you're an optimist. 1. For the first time ever, the main stream media pointed to specifics in Tortorella's system as his biggest flaw as a coach. He knows he's coaching for his job next year and the organization will make that clear. 2. The majority of our forward prospects are skill players. Kreider, Fast, Hrivik, Thomas are skill-first. Miller isn't overly skilled but plays with that mindset. Lindberg is a guy that will fit in any system he plays in. Tortorella will have no choice but to make adjustments. And if he doesn't, he's gone.
I really dont get you guys with the system stuff. We just got ousted by a team that plays similar. You cant friggun win when you scorers dont score. What system do you think torts should play? I think he should stick with it, make a few changes on the roster, get a full camp in and theyll make another decent run.
The 5 man collapse bullshit has to change. Some of you guys were defintely on the anti-Torts bandwagon before I, but its time
